We stayed in Sarande for 4 nights and think it's an amazing hub for a stay on the Albanian Riviera. We ate at 2 restaurants in Sarande, Hera and Gusto - both were very good. There's a lot of tour operators and local buses that can get you where you need to go - from here we visited Gjirokastra (amazing Ottoman town with castle and cold war museum), The Blue Eye, Lekurshi Castle for sunset drinks, did a boat trip (the Vitoria - great value for money) and had an afternoon at the beaches in Ksamil as well. Sarandë is a resort on the Albanian Riviera, in southern Albania. Sandwiched between the lonian Sea and hills of olive groves, the town is on a horseshoe-shaped bay, edged by beaches and a promenade, The city is distinguished by its wonderful view of the sea, with its wonderful turquoise waters,, and limestone hills. The beach at Ksamil was amazing, accessed via bus from Sarande. We only visited for 2 nights and one of the evenings we ate at Taverna Laberia. The food was amazing & very reasonably priced. Two mains, a Greek salad, toasted bread with olive oil, pint of beer & a half carafe of wine £27. Then we were given two desserts free of charge. The staff were super friendly. He welcome me and he suggested me all the activities I could do in the city, from taking me to rent a motorbike to showing me the best beaches around. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is on the one of the streets with the best view spot in Saranda. The breakfast was large and contained both typical and international food.
