Great location in town, friendly staff, affordable
The beautiful Belgian city of Leuven is located only a 20-minute drive from Brussels and about 40 minutes from Antwerp. This charming destination is home to the archives of the famous philosopher Edmund Husserl, the oldest Catholic university and the largest brewery in the world.
You can wander around the picturesque streets of the city, admire the stunning traditional buildings and savour a refreshing beer near the imposing Grote Markt with the Gothic Town Hall. The majestic church of St. Peter’s and the Grand Beguinage (Groot Begijnhof) are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Visit the M-Museum Leuven, the Treasury of Saint Peter, the National Scouts Museum and the Norbertine Park Abbey and enjoy a magic journey through the rich history of this magnificent city.
Featuring green parks, lively markets and excellent golf courses, Leuven has something for everyone. Situated in the village of Sint-Pieters-Rode, about 18 km away, the stunning moated Horst Castle offers exciting guided tours and an inviting restaurant.
The vibrant university city of Leuven is the capital of the Flemish Brabant Province and a great base to discover Bruges, Ghent, Liege and Hasselt. Brussels Airport is 15 km away and Booking.com will help you find the right hotel and apartment in historic Leuven.

Nice cafes and restaurants.
Nice cafes and restaurants. Interesting architecture- including the churches inside. The museum is worth a short visit, and the jazz Monday nights at a pub was appealing, though I didn't make that.

I stay in Leuven for work regularly, but it never gets boring. there are so many nice restaurants and shops in the center . The old buildings like the city hall are a marvel in their own right. Easy access via train or by car, plenty of parking, sometimes even free outside the city ring with free shuttle buses. Definitely worth a visit, get a belgium pint on the central market square and just admire the view!!

Leuven is really a mixture of late-medieval Flemish style...
Leuven is really a mixture of late-medieval Flemish style combined with the vibe of students. You can easily walk around in the city centre as lots of streets are auto-free zones. However, they allow bikes and these are going virtually everywhere. But the streets are relatively wide for an old town, so no worries.
Lots of nice buildings that especially close to the Christmas (of Feast) times are nicely decorated and lighted. Lots of shops, eateries and restaurants as well. So enough to see. Culturally there is just a few of museums to enjoy.
This town is not gourmet or top-cultural, but it has a lot to offer for a full day of city-crawling

This city was a real surprise!
This city was a real surprise! Had a fabulous vibe, plenty and variety of cafe/restaurants, good retail shops and amazing historic buildings.
Made better because the city center is compact and easy to get around without the usual crowded tourist hot spots you find in other cities.
The city transport is convenient, and the railway station is also central and an easy and affordable option to venture into Brussels or airport (both 20mins away) or beyond.
Unofficially Leuven claims to be the beer capital of Belgium - I agree the variety is vast, oh it is also home for Stella and tours are available.

Leuven is a hidden jewel to visit if you like great architecture, food choice and a city that you can mooch around and watch daily life. Add it on to a trip to Ghent or Bruges. Brussels by comparison is noisy, dirty and I think over rated.

So central and handy for visiting centre of Leuven. The hotel has underground dedicated parking for cars and lock up for our bicycles - we were on a cycle tour of Belgium and also not far from the station to take bikes on train to other parts of Belgium if not cycling to Brussels but want to cycle once there..we had to get back to Bruges having started from there ..helpful friendly staff

Very good breakfast, alot of variety although I didn't see any plant based milk available but I brought my own so this wasn't a problem. They had vegan butter which was good to see. The room was really adequate for a small single person like me. Easy access in and out of the hotel and really convenient location right infront of the rail station with the room view of the station itself.
We stayed before and returned because we knew it was a really good place to stay. We had asked if we could get the same room again and were pleasantly surprised when we did. It is very clean and comfortable. Being close to the train and bus station is a bonus.
Next time we visit Leuven, we will book here again.
