I had an amazing stay at the cottage.
I had an amazing stay at the cottage. Everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations. The complimentary boats and kayaks were a great addition, along with the playground and recreational facilities. There were plenty of barbecues available, and the hiking trails were absolutely beautiful. The restaurant offered great quality food, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Really enjoyed the food at the Hungry Hiker Cafe. Service was great. Did not enjoy the food at the Caboose restaurant although it looked nice from the outside. The service was slow and the breakfast potatoes were horrible. She did offer to cook some fresh potatoes but why not serve fresh in the first place. A refill of coffee costs $3 so 2 cups is $6. We enjoyed our stay in Clearwater. We loved going to see the waterfalls. We only got to see the 6 "main" falls. Take your time, as some are a bit of a hike, but nothing too strenuous. We enjoyed the Happy Hiker and the Hop 'n' Hog Restaurants. The Happy Hiker had great service and a very good diner menu. At the Hop 'N' Hog the portions are huge. Bring an appetite. Our meal was delicious. We were sorry to have missed a tour of Clearwater Lake. We arrived after the last tour was gone. We also rand out of time to do any rafting. We loved the area. The drive through Wells Grey park to Clearwater lake was stunning and due to rain earlier in the week, the waterfalls were amazing. The information center was very helpful. The gateway to Wells Grey Park, Clearwater is a great base camp to explore the numerous waterfalls, river rafting adventures, fishing spots and hiking/biking in the surrounding area. The people have always been friendly and welcoming with my countless visits and the scenery spectacular. Helmcken Falls is a major highlight in Wells Grey Park. Check in at the visitor center to really get a grasp of everything this place has to offer! The main town has good amenities for food, groceries, gas and more.
