This city is a short distance from Lucerne.
This city is a short distance from Lucerne. There are frequent trains that go to Lucerne and further into Unterwalden. The main attraction in Hergiswill is the glass works and its museum and restaurant. There is a boat that stops there. It's a very lovely hotel, location is perfect right in front of the lake. 10 minutes for a lovely walk from the Hergiswil train station to the hotel. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Oh and it's only 2 stations away to the Alpnachstad Pilatus station.Guest review byNungning NingFrance - 10.0

Hergiswil is a perfect location on the Lake of Lucerne with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We decided to walk up from Hergiswil to Pilatus which is quite steep, especially after Fräkmümtegg, which is the halfway stop with gondola station and restaurants. This hike is about 5 hours and there are sensational views down to the lake. At the top, there is choice of cable car down to Kriens, followed by a short train journey back to Hergiswil or the"steepest funicular in Europe " down to Alpnachstad, which we chose, Hergiswill is not far from Alpnachstad and a short return journey by boat on the lake is the relaxing way to end the trip.Guest review byMary JoSwitzerland

The views from our room was insane. The transport links were convenient and very reliable. The staff were so accommodating and lovely and the breakfast was great! We felt like it was great value for money and don’t get me started on the pool facilities. We will definitely be visiting again! We booked a room with balcony and lake view - it was outstanding. The room was spacious, and the balcony much larger than expected. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was lovely.
