Stylish hotel, convenient for the station (and they gave me a lift on the way back.) Friendly, welcoming staff. I appreciated the upgrade to a double room, which was very nice, with L'Occitane products in the bathroom. Not cheap, but I suspect it is pretty good value for Zermatt!

Excellent high mountain walks, easily reached from the centre of town. Although Zermatt itself is overrun by tourists, it is easy to get away from the crowds. The Cafe Edelweiss is well worth the climb from town, but the route is steep and requires a degree of fitness.

Great range of walks available with a range of alpine views- particularly the Matterhorn. You can also use a variety of lifts/gondalas/funiculars/mountain railways to get up to great viewing spots- albeit relatively costly.

It is a fantastic town.. a gorgeous village with many things to do that are actually free. Or very inexpensive. Get an ice cream cone... A mini in the village for 4.5 Swiss francs it actually is huge. Drink from The fountains all over the city the water is the most delicious water I've ever tasted in my life and I've been in 166 countries and islands all over the world. You can cup your hands and put them under the pumpkin and drink the water. Also you can take many photos it's just gorgeous there including the Matterhorn of course. Walk around. It's best to get coffee at your hotel or hostel in the morning with the free breakfast and take it with you a coffee can cost you $10 American easy

It's way over-priced and full of tourists.
It's way over-priced and full of tourists. If you are going there just to see the town and view the Matterhorn, I would suggest staying at Brig or Visp and taking the train to Zermatt for a day trip. Brig is beautiful, much cheaper and has far less tourists. Sadly, the Matterhorn was not visible during our stay due to inclement weather.

Firstly couldn't believe where I was!!
Firstly couldn't believe where I was!! Left home in Australia it was hot @30C & coldest day in Zermatt low -11C & high -2C - dressed for it so all good.
Highlight was going on Gornergratt Cogwheel train to see The Matterhorn what an experience. It snowed at the top causing huge excitement. Fairly cloudy but it cleared enough to get some decent photos.
The Matterhorn Museum next day took on a whole new meaning of how it was back with early explorers - very well done & worth the time spent.
I enjoyed exploring the whole of Zermatt on foot - found lots to look at - great coffee...

What a wonderful hotel in the heart of Zermatt. The service from arrival to departure exceptional and all the staff was helpful and friendly - one of our best ever hotel experiences. We continuously felt that they went above and beyond. The hotel itself was great with a slightly dated interior but this added to the ambiance and provided a bit more of a traditional Swiss experience. The hotel breakfast was great and although we did not dine at the hotel they seem to have two nice restaurants.
The best part about Hotel Bahnhof is its location, its very close to Zermatt Train Station, less than a min walk.
I was at the top floor, where everything is of wood and very unique bed structure which is cool.
Kitchen area is huge and whatever they have there is in good quantity.
Cleanliness is on top!
One of the best luxury hotel in zermatt. The interior of the hotel gives you amazing antique feeling. The breakfast was very nice. Rooms were very spacious and clean.
