Location is good, just a few minutes walk to the Jing’an Temple station. There are some shopping centres and many eateries in the area. The beds and pillows are quite comfortable, room size is good too. Only thing that I’m not happy is the bathroom door. I think is the design fault that the door couldn’t cover a few inches of the doorway thus the shower area is completely visible

FAQs about hotels in Shanghai

A Beacon of Modern China

A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernising at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and offers fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.

This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.

With a choice of shopping centres and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.

Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.

Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

The main highlights like The Bund area and Shopping strip are very nice. Old town and water town tours were fantastic. Underground copy market was a little underwhelming with Pushy people. Walking around Shanghai feels very safe. The people are friendly and helpful. Its surprisingly clean considering its population. A nighttime visit to the observation deck at Shanghai tower is a must !!

We had only a 12 hour layover so didn't see much of Shanghai. Airport is huge but beautiful and worked extremely well. Roads seemed excellent and flowed fairly well, everything seemed very clean. Only small downside was getting ripped off by taxi driver who charged 270 Yuan, which turned out to be AU$58, for very short ride. We were in need and too tired to think about it at the time.

The Shanghai area is cosplay central.

The Shanghai area is cosplay central. There are multiple dedicated shopping malls ( Joy City. D-Mall, Hubin88, etc ) solely for manga/manhua/anime clothes/toys/books/etc. You will see people dressed up in cosplay walking around in everyday life on the metro, in restaurants, while shopping and so on. If this is your dream, head over to Shanghai -- get some cosplay outfits -- and join in on the fun.

This hotel is part of the domestic terminal at Shanghai Hongqiao airport. Very grand entrance from within the terminal on the departures level. Breakfast choice was very good and well worth the extra money. Excellent views of the airport action and looking out over the ramps and runways, if you get a high enough view. Asked for and was given a later check-out time of 2pm at no extra cost. Handy coach service between Pudong and Hongqiao airports too.

Excellent location. Good choice for 4 day stay in Shanghai. Easy to each from airport via Line 2 on the metro to People's Square station. Easy to reach all of the tourist attractions from the hotel. Staff on reception were very helpful and efficient and a number spoke good English. Room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Swimming pool was great.

The hotel's best feature is its convenient location next to major bus routes, such as 112 and 23, ensuring easy access to any part of Shanghai. It is also adjacent to an ALDI supermarket, which provides a wide range of essentials, including food. Moreover, the reception and housekeeping staff speak English and are always ready to help.
