Medellin is a beautiful city.
Medellin is a beautiful city. There are tons of restaurants, night life, shopping malls. However there is not much else to do. For me it is a great place to eat out and shop. Skip the Pablo Escobar Museum. It's expensive and a total tourist rip off. If you like Burgers, Medellin Burgers is fabulous. For seafood, try Fruta del Mar, (dress nicely). For ribs, go to Restaurante El Colchon on 10A. For food with an Asian twist, try Mekong. Skip Halong completely. For reasonable leather goods, purses, shoes, jackets, belts, wallets, take an Uber to Arte Cueros. About 25% the cost of the shopping mall. The weather is perfect, even in the rainy season.

Favorite spots:
Favorite spots:
We really enjoyed exploring Parque Lleras and Provenza—the atmosphere is full of energy, music, and amazing food. Comuna 13 was also one of the highlights, with its colorful street art, live performances, and inspiring stories. The Metrocable ride to Parque Arví gave us stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains, and El Castillo Museum and Gardens felt like a fairytale escape right in the middle of the city.
Where to eat:
So many good places! We had a delicious dinner at Zaaika Indian Food in El Poblado was also a favorite—great ambiance and unforgettable flavors. In Provenza, we found places like Kampanas, perfect for dinner. And the breakfast at our hotel, Torre El Poblado, was a great way to start each day.
Is getting around Medellín easy?
Yes, it’s surprisingly easy! The Metro system is clean, fast, and affordable, and it connects well to other transportation like the Metrocable. We also used ride-share apps like InDriver and DiDi, which were convenient and safe. Walking around neighborhoods like El Poblado is easy and enjoyable, though traffic can get busy at times.
What are some fun activities?
There’s so much to do! We loved:
- Taking a graffiti tour in Comuna 13
- Enjoying cocktails and music in Provenza’s rooftops
- Riding the Metrocable up to the mountains
- Visiting Museo de Antioquia for art and history
- Watching the sunset from Las Palmas viewpoint
- Botero Square and his Art work is a great experience.
It’s a city full of color, culture, and romance—perfect for couples!
*Visit La Piedra at Guatape is a must.

Medellin is a beautiful city but you have to watch where and when you go out. SAFETY is the main concern in Medellin. Do NOT walk and go out alone especially at night. Safeguard you mobile phone and do NOT wear jewelries and expensive watches!.

Medellin is an amazing city.
Medellin is an amazing city. It's so unique and interesting to learn about its history. It has become an incredible destination to explore and we reccomend it highly. It has so much to offer keen travellers outside of just narco tourism which you see on the Internet. We would loved to have spent more time there. The food was fantastic and transport around the city either by metro/cable car or taxis was really easy and cheap. A trip to comuna 13 is a must and also paragliding over the city.

The hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of El Poblado, offering convenient access to some of the city's best attractions. It's just a short distance from popular shopping centers and a variety of dining options, especially in the vibrant neighborhoods of Lleras and Provenza. Whether you're looking for upscale boutiques or trendy restaurants, you'll find everything within easy reach, making this hotel a perfect base for exploring the best of Medellín's lively nightlife and shopping scene.
Amazing place to stay in Medellin in a nice neighborhood in El Poblado. Close to action, but far enough to stay in a peaceful and more residential area. We would always come back again here. The design and rooms are perfect, the best room we stayed so far in Colombia. Very new and clean. Staff was super helpful and friendly and you have free coffee all day long!
Location was in a quiet area but close enough to most amenities. The balcony was great to have a quiet beer or 5. Visit comune 13 for a bit of Colombian street culture, very busy and touristy but worth the visit for the views over Medellin. Breaking bad on Netflix, fun to watch considering the location.
This was the first Colombian hotel I came across where they offered a breakfast buffet and it was great!
The shower had warm water often (that seems to be rare in Colombia)
The personnel was friendly. They allowed me to drop off excess luggage that I was carrying for 2 days before I even checked in.
New hotel with super friendly staff. Fredy is a gem!! The rooms are great with the best beds we had so far in Colombia. The hotel is in a quiet area but with plenty of restaurants around in walking distance, far away from the noisy Parque Lleras (15 min walk). El Poblado Metro is a ten minute walk
