A brief overnight stay but we found our room comfortable and well equipped. We ate in the bistro downstairs which was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. Good mains. No dessert menu but there is a cake counter. Staff seemed young and bit unsure of what they were supposed to be doing, but friendly and did their best to be helpful! Easy parking in the big main carpark a short walk away (£9 for 24 hours), use the RingGo app (helpful to download this before you arrive). We did self checkout by putting the code into the door and just leaving by the back door as needed to depart before breakfast time.

Location of this property was good situated on the edge of the village and easily accessible. Free Parking at the rear was helpful. Breakfast was good and served at a pre arranged time ordered via text the previous evening. An outdoor sitting area with tables and chairs at the front of the property was good.

Lovely relaxing place to stay, breakfast delivered to the door for when we woke up which was a nice surprise. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be returning. Gutted I did not come across this place sooner as we have stayed at the lakes before. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We initially booked the pod but because there was a school trip of primary students using all the other pods, they kindly moved us to the larger tents to make our experience more enjoyable and not surrounded by overly excited kids. And honestly, from the location, the view, and the facilities, it's enough to say this made our stay in Lake District very memorable.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.

Great location, Steve was a very nice guy and easy to talk to. Sadly the place did not live up to expectations or the recent reviews we had read before booking. No ice for my wife's G&T, had to wait 15 mins for the ice-maker and then the tonic was completely flat, so she went for the white wine. Dinner was pretty awful and my wife could not eat her pork medallions, which were not pork medallions and were very tough. I ate my steak and ale pie, but only just. Couldn't eat the chips. Room was okay, bathroom was not. Could not use the wall mirror above the sink due to it slipping to a 45 degree angle all the time. Shower cubicle bottom surrounding loose and showing signs of damp, radiator rusty and nothing but hardboard on the floor! Central heating went off in our bedroom before we had finished our dinner and had to be switched back on by Steve. Had breakfast on Saturday morning, and it was excellent and again Steve was a great host, but sadly that did not make up for the Friday night. Just not a pleasant stay and we left a day early.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of locally sourced produce. The hosts were engaging and knowledgeable of the local area and happy to make recommendations. A great place to stay for the local Pubs and dining options and you could jump on a bus and visit other villages around the lake district if walking was not your thing.
