The breakfast was excellent which sets you up for the day. Hosts were very friendly and made you feel at home and couldnt do enough for you. Actually felt i had a break away from it all. And the bed was so comfortable. I will stay there again next time i go to Wales.

Didn't have breakfast, but there were croissants, cereal, milk supplied as well as teas, coffee etc. It was beautifully clean and the chambermaid was lovely, smiley, friendly, helpful. Use of a fridge was a nice touch.

Good location by a park close to the centre of town, fairly quiet and comfortable. The attached restaurant/bar was closed because the owner was ill so it might not always be so quiet. Our room had a wet room rather than a conventional bathroom which was good.

Stayed here recently as attending a wedding. Had a tasty quick bite to eat before leaving for the wedding. Rooms were excellent - such a comfy bed. Breakfast in the morning was 1st class. Really tasty and the scrambled egg cooked to perfection! Might well treat ourselves to an overnight stay in future - just because!

    Malpas was a quiet village, but had bus links to Whitchurch, a beautiful town ( we are considering having a few nights there) also through to Chester. We ate at the hotel as the purpose of our stay was to relax, which we definitely did.

    The Lion at Malpas is located in Malpas which is a 15 minute...

    The Lion at Malpas is located in Malpas which is a 15 minute drive from the nearest main town of Whitchurch. The rooms are located adjacent to the main restaurant/bar area which offers a much quieter surrounding. All of the garden areas are beautifully kept and maintained which only adds to the whole experience. Our room was spacious and well designed with plenty of wardrobe/storage space, large comfortable bed and decent bathroom with both bath & shower. I would highly recommend The Lion at Malpas to any one either passing through or looking for a longer stay in an idyllic setting. The staff are very welcoming and keen to assist at all times making our stay even more pleasurable. A big thank you to Lisa (assistant manager) who helped us overcome a minor issue with our booking - what a star !!!

    The reception on our late arrival, the rapid arrangements for dinner, excellent menu and choices of wine and beer, excellent room and assistance with luggage in very poor weather. Very popular and therefore parking (on Saturday night) could not be reserved and was not straightforward. Malpas is on a busy narrow high.street.

    A beautiful house in a country setting.

    A beautiful house in a country setting. I had a very large bedroom with lovely views over the grounds including a lake. Spotlessly clean and we felt all covid rules were followed implicitly. Would highly recommend Janet Tully

    It was quite peaceful so we were able to relax. Also, The Mission Room was a good base for days out visiting various other places. Malpas Village was nice and had some lovely places to eat out, and there's a delicatessen and gift shop. Altogether lovely.
