Arrived after 14 night cruise close to harbor so short taxi ride staff at reception very helpful as room not ready gave us a map and showed us places to see in the area. room was good and quiet breakfast was fantastic , 1 day we had a short walk to metro and had a day in Athens only 20 mins on train to center.. Lovley roof top pool and relaxing area with great views of surrounds , in all a great way to unwind after cruise would recommend if you need a few days before or after holiday in the Med . also close to some good cafes and bars

Perfect location, not only close to Seajet's gate but also around the corner from the only Vegan place in Piraeus (Little Bear). They provide slippers, coffee/tea, which is great for a 2 stars hotel. The single room I booked actually came with a double bed.

The room is OK, smallest size of any room we had during our travel. Air conditioning is not strong to cool the room.
Location of the hotel is good for us to walk around the port, and just few minutes away from Metro station.

We were in the outlying suburbs, not actually in the port.
We were in the outlying suburbs, not actually in the port. It's a working port. All the ferries and trains depart from there. Lots of different people, dashing here and there. Money exchange is opposite the 904 Bus Stop on arrival, across the main road. We found that one very fair. Lots of places to eat. We took the train a lot, so spent time there. Seemed very safe during the day. We never went at night.

We booked the hop on / hop off bus (3 lines) for two days and got to see more then what we had planned for the two full days we had in Piraeus. It was easy to get to the bus stop (7 min walk). There were also nice stores close to the bus stop and in the harbor area. We finally got to see all of Athens. So beautiful. But we enjoyed the coastline on the bus tour and got off at one of the yacht harbors for a late lunch. The coast line is so beautiful and clean. We walked back from there to the hotel and it was a nice walk that we enjoyed very much. We also walked to the restaurant for our dinners. We really liked Tosteki Tou Artemi and all the food was so good. We are planning to come back to spend more time at the beach and also want to visit the spa/lake by the coast.

We arrived in Athens from London in the evening and as the ferries to Poros left the next day, I booked us into the hotel for two nights just to be on the safe side
On reflection, a single night would have been sufficient, particularly now we know the ropes, as we had plenty of time to check out the hotel, walk to the port gate and board for our departure.
We will almost certainly return, as in terms of accessing this main portal to a myriad of Greek islands, ferries are such a laid back and stress-free way to travel.
However in terms of visiting Piraeus per se, I very much doubt it. Its similar to lot of other port based cities and very much a transit destination IMHO. Having said that, all the people we met were lovely and I also didn't sense any hostility, which is refreshing.

Piraeus is the place to have a stop over if you has to wait for the ferry to take you out to the island, but don’t book a week in Piraeus if you came to Greece to stay by the seafront. This part of Piraeus seemed quiet and safe.
