It's nice both as a center and as a base to explore the area...
It's nice both as a center and as a base to explore the area. Preveza itself is a working coastal town, quite small and there's not much in the town for more than a few days. The port area is fully modernised however with numerous fashionable cafes, bars and trendy clothes shops. Also, top quality locally sourced seafood in the numerous Tavernas - Preveza is rightly famous for prawns - fill your boots!!! You will need a car to visit the abundant local historical and scenic attractions, most of which are max 1 hour away. It's not really for a 'young children' holiday, but if you like history, the natural world, and beautiful areas it is a fantastic base camp. Don't come here if you want Spanish Anglo style food/bars/clubs. This is proper Greece. Warm, relaxed, friendly locals and of course completely safe.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A variety of good restaurants, bars and cafes, all very welcoming. Plenty of shops, including bakeries and pharmacies. An attractive marina and pedestrian walkway beside it for an evening stroll. Preveza has a lovely waterfront, lots of good seafood restaurants, and a relaxed local ambience. We have visited many times for work & leisure. The nearby archaeological site of Nikopolis is one of the most significant places in Roman history. Its setting and city walls are impressive. If you like people watching the harbour is a great place to do that. Locals are very friendly and offers good eating, drinking, shopping and sightseeing with easy access to buses and taxi's. Walked past the beach but unfortunately never stepped on it so can't comment though our friends we met in Preveza for few days love the town, the beach, facilities and location.
