The water near the shore has a lot of leaves (not trash) which can be unpleasant but further out it is crystal clear, very pleasant for swimming. The resort is ageing however other than minor wear and tear the hotel is very well maintained. We booked half board and whilst the Jimbaran Gardens Restaurant offers a tasty 3 course meal, in hindsight we should’ve booked bed-and-breakfast to have more choice and try out other restaurants in and outside the hotel.
