Spa service was worth it. I had to do a late check-out and the cost per hour of extension was reasonable.

I stayed in Legian for 1 night, I have stayed there many times before, so I am familiar with the area. I stayed the last night of my holiday after spending a few nights in Sanur, Amed and Ubud. It was a good way to finish off my holiday, I visited my old favourites in the area. I ate at Santorini Greek Restaurant, Warung Murah and Warung Asia. I walked along Jl Arjuna (aka jl double 6) and Jl Legian, I also used Grab motorbike taxis.

I have been to Legian a number of times over the years.
I have been to Legian a number of times over the years. It hasn't changed much other than the traffic has increased. There are plenty of places to eat, numerous shops that all sell the same stuff, beach is good. However, if you have never been to Sanur I highly recommend you give it a go, I much prefer Sanur over Legian / Kuta / Seminyak. Better restaurants, same sort of shops, a bit less traffic, and fantastic boardwalk.

We had everything we needed in Legian .
We had everything we needed in Legian . Everything in walking distance or a short $2 to $3 cab ride to kuta and Seminyak if you can’t walk much . We walk to our favourite restaurants. Santorini , Moo Moos, Lokal, Chapter2 , Yetti , to name a few . And a short cab trip to Johnny Rocket Kuta . Yellowstone Seminyak . For coffee or lunch , we love coffee cutters opposite hotel , or a walk to Happy , Bella vista , and coffee corner .

I will say the prices in restaurants have really gone up some of the prices are getting up to what we pay in Australia, the reason tourists come is Bali is affordable for families but you may price your self out of the restaurants don’t review this
We love the Balinese they are so humble and beautiful people.

Very central and crowded, I suppose part of the original Bali destination. Seedy aspects are the nightclub district. The streets are narrow and crowded, and get congested. At night the streets are full of prostitutes lurking in the shadows, solicitiing services. Not ideal when you are walking along with kids who are old enough to think this is bit strange but not know why or what.... Or when you are with your wife and you get propositioned.... not perhaps the best place to go with your wife. I wouldn't recommend the main street for families either.
Closer to the beach in more resort style maybe better for you in that sense.Alternatively Seminyak is a nicer place, and Bali has a lot more to offer.
However, if you want to get pissed, party on in clubs, pick up steeet girls, join in with the yobbo bogan fray, then this is classic Bali!

Everything about our stay was incredible! Apartment was huge and so spacious. Everything about the accommodation was perfect for our family of 6. Location was fabulous with only a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants just below the apartments.
Staff were absolutely incredible especially Jinae. She was so thoughtful and kind to our whole family.
If you are a family and want to be amongst it all when staying in Bali I cannot recommend Melati Apartments enough. We will be staying there again for sure!
We had a fantastic time at Villa Tentrem Legian! It’s in a great spot, close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The place was really clean and taken care of well. The staff and owner were super nice and helpful. They responded quickly to our questions and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The rooms were big and the beds were the comfiest we’ve had in any villa in Bali. Best value in Bali! Thanks a lot!

Best staff in Bali ( I have stayed in many hotels in Bali). I lost my phone in grab car but the staff went out of their way in helping me to recover the phone. Special mention to Ayu who according to me is the best guest services coordinator. Location is great as well as the hotel is right in the centre of Legian, close to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended 😀

Great beachfront location, fun poolside vibe, spacious green resort ‘gated’ away from hustle-and-bustle, affordable, (basic buffet) breakfast included, family-friendly, old-world Balinese charm. Easy to explore Legian & Seminyak from this base.
