Emily and I stayed at Olala for just under a week, we wish it could have been longer! First of all the location is phenomenal. You can snorkel right outside and see so many fish, we saw dolphins and stingrays one night, and sometimes turtles! You can hire snorkels at Olala. They also organise snorkelling trips. 5 minute walk into the town, where you can get local food, organise scuba diving trips etc. It’s about a 45 minute drive from the ferry terminal with tuk tuk or taxi:) The service was amazing, all of the staff were very hospitable and kind. The food at the restaurant is really delicious too- the chef Alfine cooked the most amazing fish curry & Tom yum soup! We had a private balcony with a hammock and amazing view. Private bathroom. Good mosquito net on bed. Lots of gecko’s running around! A big thank you to alfine and the rest of the staff at Olala for making our stay amazing! The staff also organised a taxi for us to get back to sabang and tuk tuk driver for around the island. I have no complaints and will be recommending Olala to anybody I meet heading to Pulau Weh.

The staff was super helpful and went out of their way to make or stay a memorable experience. Our room was huge and clean. The little island in front of the hotel offers great snorkeling opportunities during high tide. The views are stunning.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Casa Nemo Resort! The entire hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, full of lush greenery and tropical plants, creating a peaceful, paradise-like atmosphere. The view of the ocean from the resort is simply stunning — especially from my bungalow, which had a direct sea view and was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The bungalows themselves are very comfortable and offer a great sense of privacy. You really feel at home the moment you step inside. The location is ideal — just a few minutes from Kota Sabang, so it’s easy to explore the town while still enjoying a tranquil setting away from the crowds. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One highlight was how they assisted me in organizing a snorkeling trip with a local fisherman — a unique and unforgettable experience! The on-site restaurant is also excellent, with a relaxed atmosphere and a wide selection of tasty dishes and drinks. Whether you’re having breakfast or dinner, the setting is lovely. One of the best parts: direct access to the sea, where you can go snorkeling right from the resort! It’s such a special perk to have it right at your doorstep. Lastly, the transfer to the harbor was organized smoothly and on time, which made my departure stress-free. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend Casa Nemo to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway on Pulau Weh!

Great hosts, lovely rooms. We borrowed some fins from our dive shop (iboh also super good vibes, but they dive a little deep) and went snorkelling just from the restaurant, beautiful corals and a couple of seaturtels. Lots of love to Anni and boi

We enjoyed our stay. The view from. The balcony was fantastic. The room was a good size and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The pool was really nice which also had a great view. Phillip and his wife are friendly. We hired a scooter for 120,000 rupiah per day. It was in very good condition. He offers pick up service from the port for 80,000 rupiah.

We loved how quiet it was and how it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to visit from there by scooter. The view from our balcony was incredible to wake up to every morning and then lay in the hammock and watch the sunset in the evenings. All the staff were lovely including Panco the adorable dog. The inside of the bungalows were beautiful, clean, spacious and well thought out. We really liked how they supplied us with lots of drinking water in the room so we didn't have to buy bottles from the shops everyday. Also, the bay it's on is beautiful and protected with incredible snorkelling. It made for the best getaway we've had in a while.

Loved the location, super quiet and secluded. The room was really spacious, and the big windows gave us an amazing sunset view from inside. The price is reasonable too.

Lovely relaxing easy Island to travel on.

Lovely relaxing easy Island to travel on. We had scooters which were perfect, but many tuk tuks or taxis. Stunning Island, almost entirely covered in natural vegetation. Very low population, caters well for tourists. No flash restaurants that we came across but plenty of options around the Island. Much more relaxed than the mainland with Sharia law, just be respectful and dress appropriately. Bikinis etc on private beaches seem to be fine, but cover up to go on boats, into public areas etc. Once again lovely local people, a pleasure to visit.

    Sabang is an amazing Island.

Sabang is an amazing Island. Some call the island Pulau Weh, some call it Sabang Island. It offers plenty of things to do and see. The people are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We both got there to get our PADI open water and PADI advanced open water. We did the course at Lumba Lumba diving center and would highly recommend that place. Huge amount of knowledge and very high standard. You pay a bit more, but still a lot less than let's say Bali or other places in the world. They are a 5-star PADI resort. The diving is among the best sites in the world, some say in the top 5 spots after Maladives, Mexico and Papua. Also the island provides lots of good food (for instance Baracuda, Dee Dee's, D&D fish). It's easy to get around on a rented scooter. We enjoyed two beautiful weeks there.

Pulah Weh is a cool island to drive around motorbike, it's lush and green with lots of monkeys. Gapang beach is really nice and Bubble Addict is a great place to do dive courses at a far cheaper price than other parts of Indonesia. The ferry from Banda Aceh is frequent and really comfortable as everyone has an assigned seat.

The island is beautiful and still deserted, not much activity and lots of green and beautiful seaview. Not much resto and usually close in the afternoon, open only in evening. Weather is hot as in Aceh.
