The resort is hidden away and feels like a nice and quiet escape from the loud streets of Ubud. The pool and landscape around are very beautiful and you can daily see cute squirrels, beautiful birds and even monkeys if you're lucky. The restaurant is also facing this beautiful jungle view.

Really loved this accomodation. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was beautiful and a really nice setting in front of the koi pond and waterfall was a favourite place for us to sit. The menu in general was very very good. I came here with my mum to celebrate her 88th birthday. I requested petals on the bed and decorations on our arrival. They made it look so beautiful and had balloons in the room as well. Mum was on the verge of tears. We used a driver for our stay organised by them, his name was Made, and he was absolutely wonderful. A bit more on the expensive side in Ubud for drivers but he was well worth it. The room was beautifully clean and the bathroom was beautiful. The gardens are immaculate. Really loved our stay here. The steepness of everywhere in Ubud was a challenge for mum, but we still really loved our time there.

If you are seeking a hideaway from Bali’s chaotic Kuta, Ubud provides a welcome respite with its secluded paths, calming temples and specialised spa resorts. Surrounded by rice paddies, coconut trees and lush forests of green, Ubud is seen as the cultural centre of Bali.
The road leading up to Ubud features little villages specialising in handicrafts like Celuk (silver jewellery), Batuan (paintings) and Mas (wood carvings). Ubud, itself, produces all sorts of handicrafts in its peaceful foothills. There are also numerous art galleries, workshops and courses on offer for the budding artist.
The Monkey Forest is a popular tourist drawcard with its ravenous monkey population lunging at anything resembling food. The 9th-century Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave, showcases the island’s historic past and there is the regular Ubud Market for modern-day souvenir hunters.
Ubud is a place for relaxation and many yoga and meditation centres have developed over the years on Indonesia’s most popular island. Booking.com offers a range of guest houses, villas, bungalows and world-class resorts with spa facilities or pool.
Ubud is clearly the boho/hippy capital of Bali. There are many New Age options for health and spiritual treatments and retreats. I particularly appreciated the very many cheap and delicious vegan and vegetarian dining options. The Balinese are super friendly and helpful, especially so in Ubud. The scenery and surrounds are stunning, and it's a central point from which you can radiate to see other places in Bali.
However, the traffic is chaos, and it can take three hours to get from Ubud to the airport—a journey of 37 kms! The crowds can be overwhelming in the city centre, and navigating the "pavements" is not for the faint-hearted. Note for those with mobility issues: most sites and resorts involve climbing many uneven steps, and only a few of these have lifts.

Ubud is a good place to enjoy culture and shopping. For people into the esoteric, I highly recommend visiting Zen Aura Boutique. I also enjoyed the cooking class just outside downtown Ubud. Walking is the best way to get around Ubud Central.

In fact we did stay longer but in a few different hotels.
In fact we did stay longer but in a few different hotels. At first Ubud was shocking due to extreme traffic jams and noise and too many tourists and the commercialisation of this poor town… mainly on the centre. But once you venture out and explore places it grows on you . There are lots of magical places, temples, rice fields, yoga places and lovely hotels around every corner, so it never gets boring. We intended to stay a few days, but stayed almost 2 weeks! The Balinese culture is uniquely beautiful and its people so peaceful and friendly. I don’t really want to advertise for more tourists to come as it’s already overloaded but I haven’t anything bad to say about Ubud except for overcrowding and terrible traffic. Monkey forest is a must btw!

Enjoyed Ubud so much that we cancelled a day trip just so we could spend more time in town. Many nice little shops to check out.
So many great restaurants as well. Especially enjoyed eating at Warung Krisna near our hotel and spending some time with a beer at Meet Mie Cafe & Eatery along Jalan Monkey Forest.
Monkey Forest was great, enjoyed seeing the monkeys sitting and playing around.

Really relaxing.
Really relaxing. Keep away from the main road and enjoy the side streets, nature, dance events, food, rice field walks. I’m not into the yoga/ meditation but plenty of that in evidence. Like many places, Bali/ Ubud a victim of its own success. Too many tourists like me! Barcelona, Andalucia, Paris, Thailand etc all become glorified theme parks. Full of western white imperialists, vastly more wealthy than indigenous peoples, fat, entitled, some arrogant, some patronising, plodding the streets in their shorts and t shirts giving an impression of enjoying themselves but looking bored and uninterested, drinking beer all day and filling their bellies. Stop it. Join the resistance against the western empire.

Ubud is Bali’s spiritual center, home to countless temples, shrines, and ceremonies. It is where Balinese traditions, arts, and crafts are most deeply preserved, from dance and music to painting and carving. I love visiting Ubud, it is one of my favorite town in the world. I believe Ubud possesses a special spiritual energy. People are extremely friendly and welcoming. Surrounded by rice paddies, rivers, and jungle, Ubud offers a serene atmosphere, a retreat from the faster pace of the southern beaches. I highly recommend it!

We stayed in a villa with a private pool and it was one of the most gorgeous hotels we’ve stayed at. It was so clean and beautiful. The pool was lovely and the trees/plants enabled total privacy. The bed was comfy and overlooked the pool, which was so lovely to wake up to. The bathroom was big and spacious and the air con was amazing, kept us cool throughout the night. We really did not want to leave.
The staff were amazing and so kind/professional at all times. Thank you so much!!

Kaja Villa is like a magical place completely in the nature. The whole day you are just surrounded by nature sounds. The private pool was really deep and big enough to swim.
Yoga fulfills you every wish, always just 1 message away. For me this was the best Hotel in whole Bali because everything was on point. Thanks for everything!
