I thought the food at dinner was very good, dinned in 3 nights of the 4.
This luxury hotel has a magical location amid the Bluestack Mountains, on the edge of Lough Eske. It is 6 km from Donegal town and offers gourmet food and a romantic atmosphere.
Set within 43 acres of forest at the foot of the mountains, this stunning castle boasts huge rooms with 32-inch flat-screen TVs. The 5-star hotel offers a luxurious spa within its beautiful gardens.

The whole experience was wonderful, unfortunately I wasn't well during our stay so we didn't take full advantage of the facilites.
The food was amazing (we opted for a room service dinner) and the bars were fun too!

It’s a basic room above a pub but on the plus side your are dead centre of town , the owner was nice and accomodating and it was a fair price for what you got

Loved Donegal Castle - it's all walkable. We had hoped to take the boat trip but it is at the mercy of the tides and the sailing wasn't going until 4pm on the day we were leaving - so we weren't able to do this. You can do Donegal in a day. There are lots of restaurants.

We were visiting at a time storm Bert had arrived and we did not go outside the grounds, also we were there for only two nights. We have visited Donegal many many times before and love the county so our visit was more to relax and enjoy the hotel and environs.

Donegal is a wonderful town in Ireland, full of kind people of lot of calming nature. A good place to go for long walks or to be connected to other northern areas of the country. Easy to reach by public transport and with a great tourist info office to help solve any doubt you might have about the region.

The tourism people certainly know how to make the most of each area. A visit to the Castle, the riverside walk and the Abbey are all worth doing.
The shops in Donegal town are definitely geared for the foreign tourists but still worth a visit

The town is a real gem - small, attractive and with a lovely feel to it. Everything is within walking distance which is a great bonus. Parking is pay and display everywhere around the town but cheap and free between 6pm and 9am, so not a real issue. It has a blend of unique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The castle is beautiful and an interesting place to visit. There's also a town walking trail along the bank of the river. Plenty to see and do for a day or so.

Great location in Donegal town, situated along the waterside it has a 10 walk into the town. Michael was an excellent host with the facilities being top class. We will definitely be returning again,
Jimmy and Heather.
Ours was a well-appointed hotel room in a newly renovated building that is close to Donegal Town centre. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and breakfast in the restaurant was very good.
The rooms were hotel quality with a really comfy bed. The B&B was only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Donegal Town and the host organised a taxi for us.
