Wonderful location at the cross roads of so many must visit places. The town itself is vibrant and charming and very well serviced with pubs and restaurants. What could be better after a busy day exploring then sitting outside Foleys catching the evening sun and enjoying a pint while deciding what and where to eat.

The town was larger with more facilities than we expected and we would be happy to return. The location gave us easy access to the Ring of Kerry road trip and we saw all the sights worth seeing. The french patisserie in the town was great but has slow service as it is very popular. Watch out for the narrow roads where lots of tourist buses, and locals actually, don't always keep to their side of the road and it can be dangerous.

Town is pedestrian friendly and all restaurants and businesses lie in a small triangle of roads. Free parking was readily available at edge of village. Has its own circle if stones in the heart of town - easy walk. Great pubs like P L McCarthy and Davitts Restaurant - both offered gluten free offerings. Doesn’t have traffic congestion like Killarney. Perfect base for Ring of Kerry.

We loved Kenmare, it was such a cute little town with a lot to offer, fun shopping and good eats. Very walkable. It’s a great place for access to Killarney NP and we wish we could have explored more there. Now that we know of Kenmare we will definitely be spending more time here on our next visit.
