We were told Kinsale was one of the best destinations in Ireland, it’s quite nice but not great, yes some top restaurants like Man Friday and Fishy Fishy. Also a couple of good pubs like Jim Edwards. It could be heaps better, many places closed. Nothing of interest on the water like most Irish seaside towns. Kinsale is a fantastic spot for a romantic getaway. Very close to Cork and its airport, great bars and restaurants (we always go to the Jim Edwards for consistently delicious meals and friendly staff). Beautiful place with an interesting history. We did a walking tour with Dermot which was well worthwhile as were visits to the forts and Lusitania museum.
