Lucknow has a wealth of nawab and colonial history and the best way to explore the city is on foot. Unfortunately, like most cities in India, Lucknow is not geared to favour pedestrians. However, once we got used to walking on the road and crossing busy streets (footpaths were non-existent or full of parked cars, and no one respects designated cross walks) we enjoyed walking around the old bazaars, ruins of imambaras and the Residency.
