The bed was comfy, the room was VERY clean and the balcony is a lovely space to relax. I cannot even begin to explain how hot and powerful and all-round delightful this shower was. Staff are lovely, and I'd absolutely recommend this hotel! Ideally located.

Western style accommodation at the top of the gorge of the Ganges. Room was well fitted out. High quality furniture and beds, but designed to complement the 'natural' vibe of the place.
Complimentary breakfast each morning was amazing. Rivals the best I've had anywhere in the world.

Rishikesh is a very beautiful place with lots of religious and spiritual significance. But these days it gets so much crowd that all niceties are gone. The parking are full. Routes are diverted due to too much congestion in the city. This time of the year, the place is humid and hot. So overall, the charm is gone.

This place has my heart.
This place has my heart. The air is clean, the people are warm and nice and there is peace every where. It helps one connect with themselves simply by sitting at the Ganga ghat. The Ganga aartis are divine especially at Shatrughan Ghats. The vibe of the place is unmatched and unique. Although there are numerous cafes with mesmerizing views, I would say ditch those and go for the local food in small hotels or dhabas. Try the street food and a wide range of juices available almost everywhere. River rafting is a must. No matter how scary it appears, go for it..its an experience you cannot miss. If you can ride a scooter then your commute is sorted. If not then the local rickshaws known as Vikrams are available on private and sharing basis. You could also get dropped at near by locations on scooters for a mere 100rs or so. The marker near Laxman Jhula, Tapovan has great stuff. Triveni ghat has good options too. Do not miss the Triveni Cafe which offers a view you would not get anywhere else in Rishikesh. Bhootnath temple offers a panoramic view of the entire Rishikesh and you should not miss it.

The main purpose for my visit in Rishikesh was a 300h Yoga Teacher Training. I arrived a few days earlier & stayed in Tapovan (which is the touristic part of the city). I would also recommend to stay in that area, if you are walking to your accomodation during the night e.g. after a visit of the Ganga Aarti which takes place after sunset. Avoid to walk long distances on the main road in Tapovan, the traffic is very chaotic, loud (constant honk) and dangerous.
I personally was hit by a car in a side road away from the main road, as the driver couldn't break and was rolling downhills hitting me. Luckily I got away with bruises and abrasions but it could have been worse. So be careful and always watch out the motorbikes, cars, vans, buses and most important cows. This consumes a lot of energy so make sure to be always hydrated.
Other than that there are also really nice places in Rishikesh, the other side of the Ganges River where you find all the famous Ashrams and lovely cafes with vegan or vegetarian dishes. This part of Rishikesh is also more quiet, hence more remote and much less traffic. Overall, Rishikesh is the capital of Yoga, so you will find small shops, stores and some tiny streets almost like a bazar to buy everything you need and want for practicing or living a yogic lifestyle. Unless not mentioned fix prices always try to bargain a bit.
I hope this helps you planning your future stay in Rishikesh & for more insights about my journey & teacher training experience feel free to visit my IG Account : flow2yoga_711, Namaste Anni

I fell in love with Ganges even more than I had imagined—she really is a special river and place on Earth. I'll be back to go rafting, hiking, and explore more of the river upstream and down—I hear there really are nearby places to see wild elephants during certain times of year.

Worst traffic management of city.
Never visit during weekends and holidays, mad traffic.
Never use your own vehicle for transport with in city.
If you are ok with walking 8 to 10 km daily then might ok.
Horrible traffic.

We did visit Rishikesh and stayed at the resort for 2 days. We booked a cottage and
it was way exceptional than what we expected. The service at the hotel was also
very good. The staff was humble and polite and always there to help u out. coming
to the food, the breakfast was very nice and my 4-year-old daughter enjoyed it
thoroughly.
Mountain View is a very budget friendly hotel in Rishikesh liked by trekkers like me. Very conveniently located bang on the main road with good access to Lakshman Jhoola and also plenty of nearby eateries. I loved the hospitality by Mr.Yash who also booked river rafting for me. Overall very nice stay for a night.
Like every year, this year too I have come for the Char Dham Yatra and definitely take a break at Rishikesh. This year I have booked Hotel The Shiva Inn. The rooms are very beautiful and clean and I really liked the nature of the host Mr Raj thanks
Location is good and overall Tapovan is a great place to stay within Rishikesh. The overall ambience of the hotel, restaurant is very good / nicely curated. The food is excellent too.
Hotel is placed at a very convenient location. In the heart of Rishikesh. Market is close by and all other facilities. Staff is very good and food is tasty.
