This was our favourite accommodation in India, a truly lovely place. Sea view, basic but cosy room, mosquito net and air conditioning. Rahul was a great host, he helped us with good advice and made sure we were having a good time in the beautiful Varkala. Thank you Rahul! The breakfast was superb, thanks to the lovely women preparing it, delicious coffee as well. Be sure that we will come back! Mari and Chris @hegoshego

The service here is truly exceptional, and all the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special mention goes to Manager Abhilash, who is the go-to person for anything you need. He ensures that every detail is taken care of and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is seamless and enjoyable. The breakfast spread is also worth highlighting—it's sumptuous and offers a delightful mix of local Kerala flavors along with continental options, catering to a variety of tastes. New hotel, very charming. Clean and spacious rooms (we had duplex room for family of 4, was perfect). Quiet location but walking distance to beach, restaurants, shops. Shyias the manager was beyond helpful, he sorted train tickets, helped with recommendations and was always at our disposal. They are in the process of building a swimming pool, restaurant, spa so this will be an excellent choice. Highly recommend

What an amazing place, tucked away in the heart of Varkala. Our host Osuklama was a dream to be around and his staff were lovely. It was about a 5/10 min walk into town and the beach. Very clean rooms and good showers with hot water! If you’re looking for a super comfortable and affordable stay, this is your place! Thanks for having us guys 🫶🏼

Very nice location in Varkala with beach easy to reach. Breakfast is served at the Cafe in the Hotel premises and it is awesome. 10/10 I would recommend to book. Staff from both, hotel an Café are very nice and helpful. A/C rooms were ok.

    It is a beautiful place with plenty of beaches, greenery, small town shops, water sports and the most beautiful mangroves. There are also nice places like the Jatayu Park and the Shri Narayana Guru Samadhi and ancient temples that are a treat to visit.

    Beautiful views worth seeing.

    Beautiful views worth seeing. However most visitors are rowdy which affects the comfort of people seeking a more down to earth experience. Restaurants often out price locals and cater to Western tastes; they seek a specific type of well put together, middle or upper class traveller. Monsoon season is likely a more relaxing time to be here with less rowdy visitors from out of town/state. Little cleanup efforts for the beaches. Bad sanitation and waste control. Waste burning unfortunately normalised.

    The beach was awesome, the water temperature and calmness of the sea making it perfect for swimming. Varkala itself had plenty of options for eating at any budget level and the people were friendly, helpful and generally very honest in their dealings with tourists. The temple was especially interesting for us and was mostly open to non-hindus to walk around its grounds.

    Large beach with fabulous turquoise sea and big waves with some sun beds down one end if wanted . Lovely views and sunsets. Busy lively area ( we were there just after Xmas/ new year ) with many restaurants and shops along the cliff side. No beach hawkers on beach which made a change . Not really suitable for young children or people with mobility issues as big waves and steep steps to beach . We ate at costa del mer which had good European food if you feel like a change from the standard Indian food and was really excellent for breakfast as well as other meals . There are also cheaper good more traditional Indian restaurants just off the main drag . Roof top sky bar great for sundowners overlooking beach .

    North cliff is a perfect place to stay in Varkala as it has lots of good cafés, cliff and a beach. Music goes on till midnight during the weekend. Also, do cover Munroe Island a peaceful boat ride in mangrove forest.

    Pool is nice, all hotel is recently renovated and clean, adjacent to North Cliff beach although no sea view like some other nearby places . There is a cool cafe overlooking. About 20 mins walk to South Cliff with selection of excellent restaurants. You can walk 10 mins and get a bus for 10 rupees to town centre and railway station.

    This was our fourth stay at the hotel, we come back each year because it’s friendly and relaxed and good proximity to Varkala beaches and cliff restaurants. Everything is clean and comfortable .The pool is lovely and clean and breakfast buffet is good too.
