Perfectly located front line. Small pool but ok. Breakfast was good. Staff very nice -and responsive. Seaview rooms are nice and you can sea a beautiful sunset but it is loud from the street till early morning hours. The private area of the beach is a plus, although not included in the room price.

The walled town of Alghero on Sardinia’s west coast has an altogether more down-to-earth vibe than the more exclusive Emerald Coast on the opposite side of the island. In fact, it feels more Catalan than Italian.
The seafront walls and defensive towers surrounding the historic centre were actually built by the Catalans in the 16th century, and many residents still speak a dialect from that era. However, Sardinia has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the Nuraghe di Palmavera stone dwellings outside the town are evidence of this. Another nuraghic site is Anghelu Ruju, near Alghero Fertilia Airport.
South of the airport is sandy Maria Pia Beach which continues all the way to Alghero harbour and is lined with beachfront hotels, bars and restaurants offering tasty seafood, including local lobster. Boat trips leave the harbour to Neptune’s Grotto along the coast. Next door is Nereo Cave, supposedly the largest Mediterranean sea cave and a popular diving spot.
Also worth visiting are the pedestrian streets of the old town, packed with shops and pavement cafés. Also here are 16th-century Palazzo d’Albis and the cathedral with its mixed architectural styles.
The Alghero accommodation on Booking.com includes 5-star hotels with pools, cheap B&Bs and apartments with parking.

We didn’t have a car so we relied on public transport, which was readily available. The old town wasn’t too far away so we spent a lot of time there wandering the laneways, very pretty. We also went sailing with Sailing in Sardinia, great day on the water with snorkelling and tasting local foods/drinks. Great place for a few days and to base yourself if you have a car to explore more of the North West corner. The bus for the airport is 1€ which you can buy in advance on DropTicket (app) , the bus label is ALFA, runs every hour and only took 20 minutes in peak hour to the airport. We had some great meals in Alghero , the best was a pizza place near the cake cafe on the walk back from the old town, soooooo good.

Beautiful beach resort and mediaeval walled town, lots to see, loads of great restaurants and bars. We are indie beer heads and were well catered for with bars like Il Tocco Al Prete and L'altra vineria.

The wall city is so beautiful and full of history. All restaurant staff and shop keepers were very friendly. I had lost one of the nose rests for my glasses and a lovely lady Optometrist stopped what she was doing and took 10 minutes to replace both nose rests. Charged 5 euros .Worth every penny all delivered with her beautiful smile.
Lovely town, our time there was too short!

Food turned out to be a bit pricey (I mean, how much can a plate of pasta cost?). Otherwise, quite a small town catering to tourists mostly. Worth renting a vehicle (a moto or a car) and discover nearby small beaches.

Alghero is a small city, but there was enough to keep us occupied for a week. Hired bikes & cycled to Fertilia & the beach at Le Bombarde (easy cycle & mostly on separated cycle routes. Great boat trip to Grotta di Nettuno, lovely local archaological museum & museum of the red coral the area is famous for. Loads of restaurant choice & great produce.

We had 2 days there.
We had 2 days there. Picturesque town and a good base to explore the region with sites and other towns not far away. Ie the grotto at Capo Caccia (nearly 700 steps to get back to the top) and the small coastal village of Bosa along with the coastal road Bosa.

Very clean, comfortable beds, quiet area, free parking around, free small breakfast offered kindly for free by the host, host supportive with lots of useful information, 15 min walking to city center, perfect if you land on Alghero Airport late and want to start visiting Sardinia from there. Only 15 min drive from airport.
Location just on a first line to the sea and walking distance to Alghero city center. Apartment is not very spacious, but very comfortable. Equipped with everything needed to spend there sardinian holidays. Host Luisa is very welcoming and provided all the needed information and support.
This was the best accomodation we had in Sardinia. The host is very nice and helpful. The country house is in a lovely condition and the pool is great. It is also very nice that is close to Alghero’s old town (10 min by car) but in a calm, relaxing area. 10/10 would recommend!
Location of unit is excellent - very close to both the old town and beach in Alghero. The host provided coffee, as well as welcomed us with a bottle of wine. The toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc) were extremely good, better than any other place we stayed in Sardinia.
