FAQs about hotels in Bologna

A Gourmet Delight

World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered better than in this medieval gem.

Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look out for ragú on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savour their food, so a meal can last for hours.

Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops can be found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage listed. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views over this red-roofed city.

The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square are the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088 and home to the city’s best museums.

Bologna accommodation on Booking.com ranges from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.

I stayed in Bologna three days.

I stayed in Bologna three days. On three other days I made day trips to Parma, Modena and Ferrara from Bologna by train, Bologna has a more *medieval* vibe than Florence, for instance. In some respects it reminded me of Siena. But Bologna is a living busy city in itself and there are lots of tourists, too. But it never felt cheesy or overcrowded like some European destinations can feel.

My favorite city in Italy by far, filled with many old buildings, more porticos than you've ever seen and in the heart of the gastronomic region of north Italy so you can't eat here without eating amazing foods, they are quite literally everywhere. if you go in June then they also have one of the best film festivals in the world. this really is such a goldmine of a city, so much to see, so much to eat and drink, so much to enjoy and you can also visit so many other cities within one hours train ride that it makes the perfect hub for exploring the northern cities and towns of Italy.

Its a student city and therefore full of life. There are many great places to drink and to dine out. Everything is in walking distance and the buses are also great way to come around. The Arcades are protecting the walk ways so even in a great heat you are protected mostly from the sun.

It’s worth the money for short stays. It is a modern, funky 3 star hotel part of the UNA group. Very well located for travellers across from Bologna Centrale. Young, helpful staff with good English. Room was large and very quiet with fresh air as one could leave the window open. The breakfast was adequate and the staff were responsive if there was anything not working or needing to be addressed. The staff was also helpful in providing suggestions and any other information you may require.

Basically here for the price cheaper than an average little hotel room you get a room in a big apartment with the large fully equipped studio kitchens great bathroom and top secured location which is close to everything you need in Bologna. Also it is super modern everything is done remotely and autonomously which is brilliant. I recommend you to book it for this price/quality ratio you won’t get anything better.
