Very centrally located with walking distance to the Lake, cafes and restaurants. The room was a good size and the air conditioner (thankfully) was efficient as it was +30C and humid outside.

The hotel is very central and close to the lake and the shops. The lady who checked us in was very attentive and made us comfortable after a long day travelling. She offered recommendation on where to eat and what to do. Our room had a balcony and was very luxurious. The breakfast was very tasty and of a high quality. It was truly a boutique experience.

Set at the south-western tip of Y-shaped Lake Como, the town of Como offers wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A funicular railway runs up to the village of Brunate from where you can see Switzerland on the opposite shore.
The peaceful location has long been a favourite with celebrities, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next door Broletto dates to the previous century, and even older are the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello, sitting on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style is the Casa del Fascio, built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighbouring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury lakefront hotels, town centre B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, which offers direct services to Milan.
Good services, cafes and restaurants near by. Good variation. If interested more about shopping, excellent variation of shops and brands all way to high end.
Very Italian atmosphere, relaxed and lots to see. Historical old town by the lake.
Easy to use public transport.

Como has amazing Villa and Gardens, the Wealth of the past has created amazing architectures, statues and stone piers around the lake surrounded by the mountain in an unique scenario.
The boat Trips to see the other small villages around the lake was worth it all the money.

It is highly over rated. Too many tourists for a small town.
It is highly over rated. Too many tourists for a small town. We expected it to be pleasant but it was 32-34 degree in the day, and outside was hot sun.
The small lake Orta near Omegna was a much better experience

Como is great. Our advice is to rent a car.
Como is great. Our advice is to rent a car. We regret trying to use the public transportation. Like many others, we found it to be difficult to figure out and unpredictable. A bus may show up and leave 5 minutes early or 20 minutes late. Use Google Maps for public transportation at your own risk. Multiple times we used Google and ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere having to call an Uber. Uber is not a practical option to get around Como - first it is very expensive, second often there is no availability - there only seem to be 3-4 drivers for the whole city.

Como is a great place for both relaxation and for those who travel to see beautiful, interesting places, as well as art and architecture, including in the southern part of Switzerland. To get to/from Malpensa Airport, it is more convenient to use trains heading to Milan (from Como Borghi) with a transfer in Saronno direct to the Malpensa Express.

I loved everything about this place. Small charming family hotel, excellent location, very close to bus station, train station (Stop: Como Lago) and ferry. The best restaurants and cafes on the lake shore are just around the corner. The rooms were very cosy and clean, bathroom small but you really don’t need bigger one, very comfortable bed, air conditioning was good. The owner Isabella was very kind and helpful. There is a luggage room in case you have a late flight, you can leave the luggage there.
Best Plaza in town. The hotel truely is a hidden gem. it's boutique and very very cute, the rooms are cozy and the bed was paradise.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast - for we are in Italy - was unexpectedly rich and you can sit in the Winter Garden overlooking the plaza in front seeing the neighbourhood waren up. I loved every Minute.
This is a first class, grand hotel with rooms, food, and staff to match. It enjoys a fantastic location right on the lake in the centre of Como. The room was spotless, with crisp linens and smart decor. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Best of all was the service of the staff. Thank you.
A really nice hotel located in the heart of Como old town 15 mins walking distance from the lake. The room/studio big enough for two people, TV, kichten annex, additional blankets. Definitely would stay there again.
Relaxing on the balcony looking over to Lake Como. After hiking through northern Italy, the apartment was a haven with all the facilities we needed including washing machine.
