FAQs about hotels in Fiumicino

Between the Sea and Eternity

Fiumicino is best known for its access to the Eternal City through Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport. Despite this recent claim to fame, Fiumicino includes several archaeological sites around the ancient harbors of Ostia and Portus. It's also an important fishing center and summer resort, especially along the beaches and coves of Isola Sacra.

Hosting the busiest airport in Italy and the sixth busiest in Europe, the town has grown in a series of services that fit with these suburban functions. Examples are the Fiera di Roma conference center, or the Parco Leonardo recreation center.

The town of Fiumicino is 20 miles from central Rome, while Da Vinci Airport is 19 miles away from the Italian capital. The remains of Ostia Antica are less than 6 miles away.

Like many airports in the world, you can find hotels in Fiumicino Airport directly on its premises, providing effortless access to your flights.

Since most Fiumicino hotels are in the Isola Sacra area, you might get the chance to enjoy the Tyrrhenian beaches and the tasty Italian seafood.

It is a good overnight location for flights out of Rome instead of going into Rome itself. We organized pick up and return to the airport through the accommodation. We had dinner at Fishum which was great - excellent food, friendly staff and the largest Aperol Spritz I had in Sardinia. We're not a young couple. We're old backpackers (82 & 81) who like comfort these days rather than hostels.

Very Disappointing Stay – Not Accommodating for Service Animals or Guest Needs
★☆☆☆☆ | Stayed June 16–17, 2025 I stayed at the Tiber Hotel for one night and unfortunately had a very negative experience. As an American guest traveling with two fully trained and documented service animals, I informed the hotel well in advance and provided all required paperwork upon arrival. Despite this, I was charged an unexpected €100 fee and felt that my needs were not respected throughout my stay. The room itself was small, not particularly clean, and not well-suited for a comfortable stay. Nearly every amenity came at an extra cost—from €5 to use the gym to €10 for pool access. I specifically booked this hotel for the pool and its view, only to find it was closed during my visit without notice. Additionally, I had to move rooms due to a loud party happening on the top floor. The most serious issue was with my rental car. I parked in the hotel’s secure garage, and one of the staff members backed into my vehicle and drove off. While hotel management acknowledged that security footage confirmed this, they refused to show it or take accountability until I filed a police report. Even then, no assistance or compensation was offered for the damage or delay this caused. The restaurant food made my spouse sick, and there are no nearby options for purchasing basic necessities. There was no small shop or hotel store—only a low-quality convenience store a few blocks away. Even the shuttle to the airport came at a high price. Unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed or supported during my stay. If you are traveling with service animals or expect basic courtesy and assistance, I cannot recommend this hotel. I hope this feedback leads to improved policies and guest care in the future.

Between the connecting flights, whenever I visit Europe from Canada I always take one night stay to relax and prepare for the long flight. When my connection is in Rome, Fiumicino area is perfect for that. 10 minutes from the airport is the beach with a beautiful lungomare for the afternoon walk and many restaurants offering excellent meals along the way.

We spent 2 nights at this location, because it was near our departure at FCO Airport. We Spent one day in Rome as tourist, and the Train Station was near by. about a 30 min ride into Rome, 4.80euro tix, per person. (Don't forget to validate train tix.) I would only use this location as a launch pad, if you are late arrival into FCO. and needed a clean stay before starting off, your trip or as you are catching a flight out from FCO, at a conclusion of trip. Convenient Taxi Van, service available for a cost, even at 3 o'clock in the morning. I noticed that this location was next to a shopping center. I didn't get a chance to see, what was available there, but one of the signs said IKEA! We also took a taxi from Rome terminal to Hotel location for 60euro.

I only stayed for 1 night.

I only stayed for 1 night. The taxi from the airport cost me 35 euro which I thought was outrageous considering I only needed to travel less than 2 Klms to get to my accomodation. I found out later that there are two types of taxis, ones that are local and then there are city taxis. If I had got the local taxi it would have been cheaper.

What a fabulous Hotel close to Rome Fiumicino Airport just an 8 min shuttle bus drive. Our room Junior Suite was beautiful, the bed was so comfy. The included breakfast was the best we had over our 3 week travels. The Restaurant for dinner by the pool was wonderful. Fabulous way to finish our trip by staying here relaxing by the pool with a drink, dinner at the restaurant followed by a wonderful sleep with an 11am checkout. We sat in the shade by the pool until we left at 1pm to head to the airport for our flight home to Melbourne 😁😁.

Good location, very close to the Fiumicino center, which has a lot of nice restaurants. Free parking next to the house in the street. Man in the reception was very friendly, he didn't speak english, but we understood each other. Free coffee, tea, cookies in the kitchen. Very close to the airport, this hotel is very populiar for one night stay to wait for a flight. Outside was very hot, up to 30 degrees, but there was an air condition in the room which was very useful.

I loved this small boutique type hotel very much. It was very clean, quiet and breakfast was very very good. The hotel is situated 7-10 minutes drive from Fiumicino airport and offers transfer with nice car and polite driver. All the receptionists were very helpful and during my stay I booked one more night at the hotel. For those who travel to or from airport or stay at Fiumicino to relax by the sea, this hotel is absolutely perfect!

The apartment was an excellent value for money alternative to the standard airport hotels at Rome Fiumicino airport. The self-catering breakfast was most welcome and the host was very helpful, booking an early morning taxi on our behalf.
