Ischia offers a wide variety of entertainment but I choose it for relaxation and the thermal spas. Both exceptions were met and I would definitely return. Taxis are expensive but local buses are readily available. Local food is very good and if one likes walking there are a lot of opportunities for early morning explorations of a good 5-km lengths without any problem for access. the climate is very mild and local people are very pleasant for the most part.Guest review byDanielaAustralia - 10.0

Ischia is amazing and a true hidden gem compared to Capri but will all the amazing charm and more. It is bigger than I expected. We rented E-bikes but the bus system around the island is also good. Take a boat tour around the Island to see from the sea *we did a $25 group boat tour on Summer Breeze, highly recommend. It's a very hilly island if you go off the beach so be prepared. Also very little English is spoken here so manage your expectations. Its truly amazing and such lovely people. Was great to see a lot of Italians on holiday here. Please don't be rude to the locals remember you are a visitor and the fact that you don't speak Italian is your problem not theirs. Use google translate when needed and just be respectful. Island awesome as always but my stay ridiculously high! No worth it ! Wasn’t my expectation! Pictures showed a great stay but was all not as I expected . I called to see if she can tell me where to go and told me she can’t do English, told me to walk but when my Italian male friend asked her she offer to pick him up as his elderly mother was my guess for this trip so they communicated ONLY with him when I WAS the one I paid and those two my guess. Ischia has so much to offer!
Ischia has so much to offer! Gorgeous scenery, pretty main port and harbour; lively cafes and restaurants; great resort-wear shops in delightful tree-lined streets. A visit to the Castello Aragonese, accessed by walking along a causeway, is spectacular and an absolute Must See; also the gorgeous Giardino Mortella, a large and exquisite botanical garden originally owned and established by the late British composer Sir William Walton and his wife. The Giardino has absolutely breathtaking views from its upper level; Local buses go everywhere, and do go and visit the beautiful seaside village of Sant'Angelo, with its white, rendered houses, cafes, and little shops; also Giardini Posiedon Terme. As Australians, we don't get too excited about the beaches themselves, but for others, they're part of the attraction of staying on Ischia. Most restaurants feature very good fresh, local seafood. Plan on at least a 4 day stay. We've been here twice and only had time for 3 days each time--not long enough. We'd love to return again. Easiest way to get there is by fast ferry to/from Naples port of Beverello, or the nearby coastal town of Pozzuoli, which has a wealth of Graeco/Roman archeological sites. Ischia is a perfect place to enjoy whatever holiday you're looking for.Guest review byBrooks - 10.0

The beach was clean and beautiful. Since we traveled in May, there weren’t many tourists, which we really appreciated. The island itself is lovely and well-kept, and the locals were very friendly, even sharing great tips on places to visit. The restaurant staff made us feel very welcome. While much of the Amalfi coast has been a victim of its own success, overcrowded and pricey Ischia retains an old school Italian charm. Still reasonably priced accommodation and restaurants, easy to navigate bus system around the island and fabulous views of the surrounding islands. The hot springs beach clubs like Poseidon (45€ for a day - worth it!) are a great day out, Maronti beach is a great place to experience beach life al’Italiana (busy especially on the weekends). A special lunch da Maria on a little beach reached by water taxi by the Aragonese Castle (9€return). We’ll be back!Guest review byGipsterUnited Kingdom

The hosts sent a car at their expense to fetch us from the port. They then gave us lunch and showed us around the area, which is great for tourists who know very little. Every morning there was something special. The rooms were simple and it felt like staying with family. Great pillows, lots of cupboard space, everything you need for cooking. And a washing machine!
