My second time visiting Malcesine, the best place to be if you're wanting a town with a buzz and plenty of activities. Malcesine is great place to stay on Lake Garda.
Malcesine is great place to stay on Lake Garda. The old town area is full of places to visit including a fabulous castle. Lake ferries come and go all day and give visitors the opportunity to explore other towns around the lake. There are dozens of restaurants, bars and shops to explore and ice cream lovers are well catered for. The cable car ride up to Mont Baldo is a must with fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Cobbled streets require sensible comfy footwear.Guest review byDoyle - 10.0
What a beautiful spot!
What a beautiful spot! We stayed in the old town, lake, shops & restaurants are a short stroll away. Always a bit of a hill to climb on cobbled streets which may be an issue for some. It is so picturesque and relaxing, no loud noise at night. The only negative we had was the price of parking, we had flown into Bergamo so needed the car to get there, next time we would use Verona airport and use public transport.Guest review byAndreaIreland - 10.0
Malcestine is a beautiful town with plenty of quaint...
Malcestine is a beautiful town with plenty of quaint restaurants and shops, there is a lift to the top of Mount Baldo a few hundred metres from the town. And boats go to other towns around the lake.. I would recommend hiring an electric bicycle you can cycle from miles and miles along cycle path around the lake. I saw some stunning views that I wouldn’t have seen without the bicycle. We spent 5 days in Malcesine for my son's Fairytale wedding...
We spent 5 days in Malcesine for my son's Fairytale wedding in the Castle. It was perfect! Great town to spend time in and eat, shop and sightsee. The local ferry allows day trips around the lake to visit other great towns like Limone. Private boat cruises around the lake allow luxury to be added into the stay. The locals are friendly to tourists and the town is never short on places to eat and shops to visit. Most definitely one of my best vacations.Guest review byErnest - 8.0

I was there to watch family members run the Lake Garda marathon. I'm so glad we stayed 5 nights to settle in before and relax after. The old streets and castle are very atmospheric and in April the mountains around were still snow-capped and beautiful.
