Really beautiful estate and surrounding views, lovely staff who are both professional and charming. The decor is great and the rooms spacious and all individual. Food and wine all delicious. We did the wine tasting with Andrea who was delightful and so informative,we really enjoyed our time with him. Our friends had a lovely bedroom but it had a bath not a shower, so if you want a shower make sure you specify when booking. The pool is lovely but opens in June so we didn't get to use it. Breakfast was excellent.

Urbino is a city-museum with a University ie not a real town but lovely to visit. The Ducal Palace is stupendous but the organisation was appalling and the usher very rude. There were school trips booked but they refused to let our small group with guide go in before a large and noisy group of young schoolchildren and were very rude to our guide. We were told to queue and had already stood for 30 minutes - we are both over 70 and were already tired. We gave up the visit and returned in the afternoon when there were very few people. The restaurants were not always good - our favourite was the Leone - great food, great service from the owners and honest prices.

It's an interesting small city, easily explored in a full day, though doubtless there are things to do that would take longer. The access is very steep, possibly one of the steepest hilltop towns we've visited, and we've been to many.

Urbino is rightly renowned as a centre of Renaissance culture and is a well preserved and restored hilltop gem. The Ducal palace is a fascinating visit, as is Raphael´s birthplace and a variety of churches. We really enjoyed walking the beautiful streets and exploring - it’s a small city, so this is easy to do, however it is very hilly, so is challenging for anyone with mobility issues.

For seniors you need to take advantage of f.i. the elevator from the parking at Mercatale (cheap) for €1. The museum at the museum Ducale is very religious and got bitboring to me until I noticed how extraordinary crafted doors, ceilings and windows are. Great experience.

As I said before, we wished to have had more time to explore this interesting and beautiful town and would recommend to have at least 2-3 days planned. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the staff very helpful.

Urbino is a beautiful medieval town.

Urbino is a beautiful medieval town. Quite hilly so bring decent shoes. The ducal palace and art gallery is a must see but wandering around and sitting in a cafe looking out over views is just as atmospheric. It’s quite quiet and not silly prices. Local Passerina wine is a new favorite

Excellent location in the middle of town, short walking distance to everything. The property itself is quiet, quaint, and home-like, very relaxing and stress-free. The breakfast is simple, but this being Italy one should only judge the prima colazione based on the cappuccino, which was excellent. Urbino center is car free, so it was a bit of a hike from the parking garage to the hotel, but as we were only staying one night it wasn't too difficult. Having a covered parking in the heat of the summer is a plus.

The property was in a fantastic location with wonderful views. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. However, the hotel restaurant was closed on two of our three night stay. When the property is 8km from the nearest town, this is unacceptable, especially if you charge 320 Euros per night. Also, 30 Euros a night for our dog is way more than we have experienced in the past and was not made known to us in advance

It is in a perfect location. We felt we had the best hotel room in the whole of Urbino. Swallows wheeled above us and below us. The most beautiful Renaissance palazzo was right beside us. Urbino was laid out in front of us and green hills were in the distance. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the Alberto Italia.

In general I had a great stay at this hotel. It has every essential commodity and more for its category. Very good AC in camera and enough space in both the room and the bathroom. Breakfast had everything you need to start your day full of energy and ready to go.
