Loved it. Plus the owners were super nice. It’s spacious and was super clean. Also not too far from the station though I would recommend a cab if you have luggage. As there are steep slopes to get to the place. Gorgeous place overall.

This was by far our best experience yet. It had the welcoming vibe of a hostel but with the comfort of private rooms. The beds were excellent, and the food in the lobby was surprisingly fresh and tasty. We especially loved the cozy lobby with its fireplace—it made us feel right at home. All of this at a very good price. Overall, a truly wonderful stay!

Our favourite stay during the entire Japan trip. Would highly recommend. The private onsen was incomparable. The rooms were small but extremely cozy and gave the vibes of staying in a traditional ryokan or an old geisha teahouse. The location is also great, walking distance from Hakone station but still away from the busy streets. The complimentary breakfast, despite being minimal, was filling and delicious.

The open air onsen was one of the most peaceful and quiet one ever. One of our favourite stays as it has everything (except seasonings and a knife) to make it homely, including a washer and dryer. There's a small family mart (closes at 5pm) and a curry restaurant (opens mid afternoon) nearby. Ice cream and drinks vending machine available in the lobby lounge.

The room was cosy and spacious. Our room had a private outdoor spa which was super cute, quite comfortable for 2. We booked here because it had a private spa at an affordable price. There were only about 5-6 other rooms so my boyfriend and I were both able to enjoy the public spas alone as well around 10pm. Owner is friendly. He offered for us to use his car to get to convenience stores if needed. There are also really nice restaurants like Gyeongbokgung Palace (KBBQ) and Cafe Dining LuDERA like a 15 minute walk away. Would definitely stay again. Only regret is not booking breakfast.

Hakone is a green antidote to the hectic city life.We loved the Botanical Wetlands and would recommend it along with the garden at the Hakone museum if you are interested in plants and gardens. The trip from Gora to Hakone on the Tozan line was a fantastic journey through the forest on a track lined with white hydrangeas. There are stunning views along the way down. And the Open Air Art Museum is such a great space with so much room and fun for both art lovers and families. Its a good idea in Hakone to plan your visit well as locations are surprisingly spread out.

Once you worked out how to use the Hakone Freepass all went well. It is very complex looking to start with. The bus system is very good and easy to get help.Unfortunately in the four days we had there Mt Fuji hid behind clouds. Will have to go again. Hakone Yumoto pretty much closes down at night.

We decided to travel to Hakone and buy the two day travel pass. It is possible to do everything in one day but why rush. Hakone is a busy town with many restaurants to choose from it’s the start of most of the sightseeing excursions so generally a convenient place to start from. The train, buses and mountain train terminals start from there. Strongly suggest travelers upgrade to the Romance Car it’s well worth the extra money and buy the travel pass it does save money and is very easy to use.

    Hakone is a fabulous destination.

Hakone is a fabulous destination. I recommend getting the free travel pass (it isn't free though) for ease of travel. The Hakone Open Air Museum is one of the best galleries I have been to worldwide. It is a must see and allocate a couple of hours for this one. The Venetian Glass Museum and Pola are fabulous. The ropeway and lake boat ride are also great and you can usually see My Fuji along the way. Book ahead at either or both of the Nobu restaurants - the best in the area. They close a little early so book for 6 or 6:30 if you can. Or lunch. And ride the Tozan Rail all the way for a beautiful experience. I hear the hydrangeas along the way are amazing In June - we were a little too early.

Hakone is a beautiful place with lots of greenery. The air pristine and refreshing. I would come back again . It is easy to get around especially with Hakone free pass. Every places of attraction was within easy reach really . Buses and train schedules were reliable. Only wish that the bus operators were more friendly. From my observations , maybe pay them more wages . Haha

Such a beautiful place - the best parts of Hakone and Motohakone were of course the sights. The mountains surround you and it is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. If you’re able to, I highly recommend taking the path along the lake in Motohakone and explore that way.

Pretty hotel, with a nice view of lake Ashi (when the skies are clear). Very nice public onsen with good amenities- like skin care, hair care and dyson hair dryer, and a foot onsen outsiders with the view of the lake. Food was nice as well, large buffet with western and Japanese food. Also a yukata stand near the elevator with a range of sizes and prints that you can choose from. Free shuttle to and from Odawara station which was very helpful considering it's not so easy to get to the hotel.
