+ Very well priced hotel located just 6 minutes walk from the main JR Sapporo Station (although Google Maps sent us around to the back entrance!). Easy for a day trip to Otaru. Make sure you use the South Exit.
+ Decorated in a low key style which is a little daggy (unlike its sister hotel in Kyoto which is quite glamorous and elegant). But very comfortable.
+ The buffet breakfast range was excellent and included Hokkaido specialities such as soup curry (delicious) and a self-serve soft ice cream machine as well as seafood.
+ Good sized room and the bathroom included a bathtub.

Nice city. It is not too crowded. Though I met many Chinese and Korean tourists. I hardly saw any Indian or for that matter any other tourists. Nakajima Koen and Odori park are great to explore. I spent hours in the park. Cloak tower nothing great but famous meeting place. Otaru town and boat ride is great, very touristy and great food. Will visit these places again in Winter.

Go there for nature therapy and it's a great place in Japan...
Go there for nature therapy and it's a great place in Japan to have diverse experiences- excellent and fresh seafood, ultra sweet melon, delectable pastries and delicious parfait. The people are friendly and their kind gestures are greatly appreciated, whether in the restaurants or taxis.
A complete travel to Hokkaido must include a visit to Furano and the onsen town, Noboribetsu.

My trip to Sapporo was absolutely amazing!
My trip to Sapporo was absolutely amazing! The city offers the perfect blend of nature, culture, and shopping. One of the highlights was visiting the majestic Big Buddha at Hill of the Buddha—a truly serene and awe-inspiring place. We also took a scenic trip up Mount Moiwa, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
As shopping lovers, the Mitsui Outlet Park was a fantastic stop. It had a great variety of stores and some excellent deals, making it a fun and worthwhile visit. Sapporo has so much to offer, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of adventure, relaxation, and retail therapy!

Not like other places in Japan, Sapporo is not so crowded.
Not like other places in Japan, Sapporo is not so crowded. You can rent a car to go around even to the “get away locations.” Variety of “fresh” seafood are abundance, more than in Seattle, WA, USA where I live.

I arrived in Sapporo right at the end of Japan’s Golden Week...
I arrived in Sapporo right at the end of Japan’s Golden Week holiday, and I was immediately struck by the city’s spacious and serene atmosphere-so refreshingly calm compared to the bustling streets of Tokyo. Because Sapporo is located in a colder, higher region, the cherry blossoms were still in full bloom in early May, which was a wonderful sight. The weather was pleasant overall, with cool nights that made it perfect to enjoy Sapporo’s famous soup curry or the renowned grilled lamb dishes.
Just about a 30-minute train ride from Sapporo is Teine, where snow still lingered on the mountain peaks, offering a refreshing trekking experience. For a change of scenery, a one-hour bus ride brings me to Otaru, a charming coastal town known for its clear blue sea, cool breezes, and exceptionally fresh sushi.

The Sapporo Grand is in a fantastic location for ease of access to/ from airports, trains, subway, bus, shopping centres, tourist attractions and and food outlets.
The hotel exudes elegance and stately ambiance - a grand lady whose staff are unfailingly helpful and courteous, nothing is too much trouble. We really enjoyed our stay there as we felt very welcome. There is a range of dining, coffee places, lounges and bars within the hotel complex to suit almost any tastes and their buffet breakfasts and lunches are superb
Location is right beside jr station sapporo. But do note that taking the subway route to hotel, there would be a portion where ypubwould have to take the stairs. So with heavy luggages will be a little challenging. A way to mitigate is to go out up in the street level via the mall so u have eacalators, and then cross to the lobby entrace of the hotel all accessible via lift.
MUST TAKE THE BREAKFAST!!! International one is fine! Best!!! Pj is provided. Bathtub functional
Great experience across the board. Nice, clean room, great food and the hotel is basically in the middle of the City. Right next to the park, too, so you see a bit of green whenever you come and go
Location is great, you can easily find restaurants and famous spots. Price is competitive, even include breakfast. You can use parking lot across from the hotel, or some others nearby.
