Having a guide & tuk tuk allowed us to see all the important sites in this vast area. It made for a more comfortable experience in the tropical heat. We stayed at Prestivia Stay, in a quiet area, where our helpful host arranged tuk tuk & guide. Our host served delicious authentic Sri Lankan meals. Historic and spiritual richness is a gift to the traveller - and Anuradhapura has both. We visited the magnificent stupa and Bodhi tree as well as archaeological sites.
