Do not miss Ella! Ella is such an awesome place for families! We spent 4 nights there but could have stayed another couple of nights. Its a great place to be if you want to cool down after a beach trip. It still gets hot during midday but nights are generally cool. A lot of nature hikes around to pursue. Nice lively environment in town too with shops and restaurants catering to traveller's needs and tastebuds. Tuktuk drivers here are the only downside. Coming into Ella via train is highly recommended as it passes through stunning landscape. Two nights was the perfect amount of time to experience local hospitality, food - Mateys Hut was fabulous - and sites. In our one full day we were able to do a Little Adam’s Peak sunrise hike, visit the Nine Arches Bridge (twice!), ride the Zipline, and hike to a waterfall to swim. The kids especially enjoyed the Zipline and waterfall. Ella is a magical place that belongs on anyone’s itinerary - but just a day or two will do most people.Guest review byKateAustralia

Had full set of linen on the bed - had a top sheet! First hotel Sri Lanka for me! Breakfast was served on the balcony each morning. Menu changed each day. Always more than you can eat. It is clean and comfortable and a wonderful haven oasis in the jungle, away from the hectic main road of Ella town. This is not a 5* luxury hotel, it's a clean and comfortable room part of a family's home. It is a little walk - 20 minutes on hilly bumpy road - from the main town, but for me it was perfect.
