Lovely staff, food was good in the restaurant. Breakfast was good with a big variety. Rooms are small but comfy. Pool was amazing, and decor throughout was great. Wifi worked well.
The Azoul hotel is situated in the heart of Ouarzazate, just a 3-minute walk from the souks and a 5-minute walk from the bus station.

I had chosen Hotel Azoul basically because of its location. It is right in the centre of Ouarzazate, close to everything you might need during your stay. Check-in was easy and friendly (I arrived close to midnight). Azoul rooms may not be the most contemporary (like the bathroom was a bit old-fashioned) but very comfy, quiet and clean. Breakfast was served next door, in a small café and was fine. The staff at Azoul, especially Mohamed, were really nice.

We were disappointed in Ouarzazate. It is cosmopolitan city but the area around was quite dismal. Unfortunately like so many places in Morocco, a country we love, it is drowning in rubbish.
The highlight was visiting Ait Ben Haddou.

Not only is Ouarzazate a pretty nice and vibrant place, there is much to explore around such as NooR, the most massive solar power station of the world, Atlas studios or Fint oasis. Recommended restaurants are La Datte d' Or, Ovelix and Habous patisserie.

It is more laid back and less touristy than Marrakech. It's different culturally than Casa, Kech, or Tangier and has some unique attractions in and out of town.
Oh, and don't forget to get the ghraiba cookies (like a pecan sandy) at Habbous in the main town square - the best I've had in the whole country.

A good place for a short stay before going on to the coast, Atlas Mts or desert, driving tour etc. There's enough to see and do for a few days. The Taourirt Kasbah was partially closed at time of visit for repairs and there's a lot of construction work going around around there and the museum of cinema. A trip to the Atlas Film Studio (15 min taxi ride our of town) was worth it. If interested visit the Jewish Museum (old synagogue) in the old kasbah and get shown around a crazy house stuffed full of artefacts - mindblowing!

Great place to fly into if you are exploring this part of Morocco. No crowds or ques at security/immigration.
It is a busy town with lots of facilities. One of the main attractions in Ouarzazate is the Atlas Film Studios and the CLS studios. Well worth a visit to view the film sets used in Prison Break, The Mummy, Gladiator and Game of Thrones. The spectacular mud city of Ben Haddou also used in numerous films is a 30 min drive away.

As a first time visitor to Morocco and first time solo travelling female i was anxious but as soon as I arrived at the Riad Mohammed gave me the best welcome and was especially nice to have tea on the beautiful roof terrace! I had great sleep and breakfast was plentiful. The views here are absolutely stunning too! I am looking forward to returning to Cinema Riad again soon! Mohammed was very helpful recommending restaurants and giving directions, he even made me a takeaway breakfast for my flight home.
As it's a small hotel with few guests, you feel like you're in a private apartment. The hotel staff were nothing short of exceptional - they were always so friendly, helpful and smiley. Particularly the main reception lady who went above and beyond to make our stay special!
The pool is refreshing as it's so hot in summer, and the food at their restaurant is DELICIOUS. If you want a true Moroccon experience, visit this place
Great breakfast and dinner. Made of fresh and local ingridients. Mr Josef the hotel owner looks after all your needs. He is always around talking to guests. I had a problem with my car. Mr Josef took a broken part to the city centre to get it repaired. The best place I have ever been to due to beautiful location and great service. Best example of Moroccan hospitality. I will surely be back on my next trip to Morocco.
The Riad has an air of a small luxury hotel, from the professionalism of the staff, down to the wonderfully crafted food and the choice of settings to eat. They even washed our car! The room was great too, if a little dark
The nicest staff member you'll find in Morocco, genuine smile and attention. The Riad is nice, comfortable bedroom and good breakfast. We stayed only one night but it was great. Thank you my friend!
