Ulcinj as a town doesn’t offer much.
Ulcinj as a town doesn’t offer much. The “center” is quite chaotic, and there’s really not much to see except for a bunch of cafés and hotels crowded together. The outskirts of the town can be frustrating, as there are no proper sidewalks or infrastructure that would suit someone with a stroller trying to explore. If you are having a holiday focusing on beaches it would be fine, but we are not beach people so that was not the main draw for us. There are not many sights to visit as such. There is an interesting mix of cultures. We did not have our own transport thus had to rely on buses and taxis to get to some other places such as Bar. Restaurants offer mainly the same combinations of fish dishes, pasta, pizza etc. There are some great fish restaurants in the Old Town with stunning views over the sea.Guest review byJoanUnited Kingdom - Review score

Ulcinj has a nice easy hiking route, starting after you climb up the stairs at the left side of the central beach. The first 500 meters you walk along a car road, in the shade of pine trees, but already there you have a beautiful view over the rocks and the sea on the right side. The real footpath brings you all the way to long beach. There are plenty of places along the track where you can walk down to the rocks near the sea and, in winter, enjoy your private time with the sea without being disturbed. The long beach is a 12 km long sandy beach just south of Ulcinj. Also a nice place for a walk.Guest review byAnonymousNetherlands - Review score

Overall, this resort made a favorable impression. The weather and the sea are simply stunning at this time of year. The sandy beach, the sea is shallow in this place, suitable for families with small children. Stari Grad is a medieval fortress made of huge boulders, where there is a monument, by the way, to Miguel de Cervantes, known throughout the world for his novel Don Quixote. He visited Ulcinj.
