I had an exceptional stay at “Mis sueños Holbox”. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The room was great, spacious, and beautifully decorated, offering stunning views of the swimming pool. The breakfast was also good. Location is great, just a few minutes walking to the center.

The property was a gem of a find. With only six rooms, it felt exclusive and peaceful – and as a couple, having the whole hotel to ourselves made it even more special. The pool was spotless, the sunbeds were perfect for relaxing, and yet it was only a five-minute walk to all the places you’d want easy access to. A great spot for a quiet, private getaway.
This family-run hotel is located in front of the beach on the beautiful Holbox Island, just off Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It offers an outdoor pool, hot tub and stylish hut-style rooms.

Visited this place 2nd for 5 nights on our trip of Mexico. Beautiful island, beautiful looking hotel and perfect location on the island.
Room: on the surface a basic room (coco) and the cleaning/ room service team were excellent.
Restaurants: tried LUUMA the first night- food was good (expensive but worth it). Service was terrible- waitress was very rude.
Overall: unsure if I’d stay here again - think probably not given the hit or miss service.

Very friendly lady at the reception, nice room with the best bed ever! We read a lot of complaints about the noise from the club, but it is not THAT bad, just put in some earplugs and you sleep like a baby (they offer ear plugs at the reception). Breakfast is also very decent, big portions.

Holbox Island is an absolutely wonderful place and worth the time it takes to get there.
Won´t go into detail about all the sites but just offer you a thing that I hadn´t tried before but worked for us very nicely on this trip.
So even though everyone likes a Beach Club my girl and I do like to venture out to the quiet beach spots and spend a day the way you imagine a place like Holbox to be: quiet "virgin" beach, beautiful ocean, no development, few people around.
Except there is the problem of no shade and no drinks. Here is how we solved as we were traveling only with our carry on luggage.
Holbox is a remote island but it does have Amazon and MercadoLibre (amazon for latam) services. About a week before our arrival I ordered a Beach Tent (seen in the pictures) to arrive at our hotel.
I packed all my clothes inside a cloth/nylon cooler backpack and packed that backpack inside my carryon luggage (sort of like a packing cube). And finally, from REI we had those tiny foldable chairs made of aluminum (those they always let you through at airport security since they have no pointy edges)
The beach tent was waiting for us when we arrived and it was amazing. Great shade small size. We wandered off and spend three of our days at amazing beaches.
To top it off, I left the tent with the bar attendant whom we made friends with during our stay and just a few days ago she sold it to a family also visiting for the week and paypaled us the amount (plus her comission).
My idea is to have this beach tent stay in holbox from one tourist to the next.
Anyway, thought I would leave that tip here.

I love Holbox - try to visit at least once a year.
I love Holbox - try to visit at least once a year. Unfortunately, the island is starting to get very touristy and costly in comparison to prior years.
Think the ways of Tulum...would definitely recommend visiting before it becomes impossible to go to to be able to enjoy the true, rustic beauty of the island.

This was our second time in Holbox, and although it was busier than our last time (in December) it still wasn't too bad with crowds. Holbox is beautiful and the people are friendly. We love it there.

Holbox is great if you know what to expect.
Holbox is great if you know what to expect.
It DOES NOT have paved roads. 1) In the rainy-season they flood, so plan on getting your feet (and knees) wet...repeatedly. 2) In the dry-season they're DUSTY. The dust/sand gets EVERYWHERE.
NO CARS. Most everywhere is walk-able. You can get a four-wheeler, golf cart, scooter or bicycle. Plenty of taxis.
Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores. Plenty of hotels from minimalist to fancy.
Two ferry lines running approximately every half-hour, so there isn't a problem getting to and from the island.
Tours vary according to the season, so check for the time you're planning on traveling. As an example, seeing and swimming with whale-sharks is seasonal.

The hotel was great and the location too. The rooms were big and clean. The breakfast was good too. We loved our stay!
The only thing is that right in front of the hotel you see how locals live and this makes you think about the destruction of the island and all the constructions going on for tourists....
The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind at all times, especially Paco at the reception. You almost don‘t want to leave your hotel to do things around the island because it so nice.
The hotel is overall good. We like the design of it and the room we reserved is indeed very spacious. We love the pool and the generous sun beds. Overall a relaxing 2 day stay in the island in this hotel.
