There were so many drug related people around the main...
There were so many drug related people around the main center and especially homeless people everywhere. I went to watch a cricket game at the Seddan Park and there were about 6 homeless people often asking for money. I felt unsafe walking around the park. I tried to go out for tea with cricket families and got harassed again by the huge amount of homeless people on the sidewalks and fights broke out on the street outside a restaurant that we were eating at. We left as cars were racing down the main road and it was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation outside. My daughter graduation was being held at the event centre in Claudelands, Brooklyn Motor Lodge location was perfect, .if you don't feel like cooking, there are a variety of local Takeaways to check out in walking distance. I don't like driving in the city but it was easy getting where I need to go. Me and my bestie booked a Red Balloon ride over the Waikato. To avoid arriving late for the early start we stayed overnight. Our motel was conveniently located so we walked the distance to the city asking a man on the street for his dining recommendation. He suggested Pickles Restaurant. An excellent choice. The food and staff were 10/10. To the adventurous out there. Book or gift a balloon ride with Red Balloon. You won't regret it. Mark and his team are very professional. The managers and the owners are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. TBH we could have spent the whole afternoon after arriving just chatting with them. The rooms are spacious well equipped and spotless. There is plenty of parking. It was a perfect location for us and only a 15 minute stroll to the centre of the city. I love the big cotton towels, the big comfortable bed, the big sky tv, and how easy it was to access the lift right by the entrance and be up in my room in a flash. The staff were kind and helpful. The buffet breakfast was yummy and the layout of the restaurant was spacious and friendly, overlooking the calm waters of the Waikato River. It was my first time to stay in an Ibis Hotel.
