Far beyond expectations—the staff's sincere and friendly service, the resort being a farm where you can see alpacas in the morning and stargaze at night. Highly recommended!

The omelete was the best I had, light and fluffy and the location is perfect. The staff were excellent, helpful and professional. Whether they cleaned, were on reception or in the dinning area.
Well done.

Gorgeous settlement - by the ocean. Stunning historical buildings, vibrant shops filled with goodies, Sunday market brimming with organic produce - vegetables, honey, cheese, soaps, lotions, coffee and yummy treats. No junk - wonderful homemade produce at exceptionally good prices, for example - two cheese rolls and a cup of soup for $9.

Oamaru is a total hidden gem! I wish we'd stayed longer. VERY cool historic precinct, and town. Beautiful architecture. Boutique-y shops, galleries etc. Incredible food scene, breweries were amazing too. The surrounding area is beautiful, and crazy cool wildlife.

Loved the old buildings built of Oamaru stone which give it so much character. Enjoyed the old buildings near the wharf where there are wonderful artisan shops and workshops - made several purchases there.
Enjoyed the scenic views from the lookout and the 'Little blue penguin' colony experience

Lovely town, the locals were friendly and it was easy to navigate around. The Lookout is worth a visit, as is the historic precinct of course. The town has all the necessary supermarkets and Farmers department store, as well as a good selection of Op Shops. Loved how quiet it was, traffic wise, compared to larger towns and cities. Gorgeous historical buildings and houses. On the road that goes down to the penguin colony is an un-used wharf/jetty with hundreds of shags (birds) - just amazing and a great subject if you like photographing wildlife. We shall return.

Good location close to central Oamaru and the Victorian Quarter. The motel unit we stayed in was at the rear of the property in a quiet location therefore no road noise.
In addition, the unit appeared to have been designed to prevent airborne and impact noise from attached units which is a big plus in terms of having a good nights sleep

Poshtel is one of the quirkiest (in a good way!) hotels we have ever stayed in. Each room has its own theme - ours seemed to be music, in particular, brass instruments! We loved the vibe, the locations, the facilities, the warm welcome and informal 'self service' breakfast. A perfect base for a couple of days in Oamaru.
