Enormous, very grand luxury rooms with super high ceilings. Every detail has been thought of from the lovely throws and cushions in the rooms to the fresh milk, tea and coffee left out for guests.
The huge roll top bath tub with lovely lavender scented bath and body sets and bath salts was such a treat (as was the underfloor heating)!
It’s also a stone’s throw from everything you could need in Nelson. Couldn’t fault!

Irish pub up the road was good for a drink.
Mostly did our own cooking but nice cafes around the corner for lunch.
Handy bus stop across the road. Went to Blenheim for a day ( check the timetable.. doesn’t go every day)
Walked to Waikawa Bay and back.
Edwin Fox museum worth going to as was the Mail Run cruise.
We stayed for 3 nights… arriving from Wellington by ferry… and leaving by bus for Christchurch.

Lots to do and see. Recommend the Edwin Fox museum.
Lots to do and see. Recommend the Edwin Fox museum. Wine tours close by. Ferry port so always busy, Great selection of shops and eateries. Make sure you stop and relax for a while and perhaps walk the hills and surrounds.
Pity the gondola never happened for Picton. Would have been an asset for the town. You can still see the scoured tree scape

Picton has so much more to offer other than being a ferry terminal. A wide choice of restaurants & cafes, plenty of shopping opportunities, lovely harbourside walks. There are also a wide choice of boat trips to experience the Marlborough Sound.

We booked the Boathouse Apartments which was absolutely stunning, the scenery around Picton was amazing and lovely to watch the boats come and go. Whilst pleasant to walk around and we met some lovely people there was something missing!

Enjoyed walking around Picton and engaging with the shopkeepers. Had a wonderful fish and chips dinner at Paper fish. Very pleasant weather and low-key town - of course it helped that a 5,000 cruise ship didn't dock due to bad weather out at sea! Only concern was that the person one would expect to be the most engaging, personable individual was not staffing the Picton tourist information booth that day. She didn't seem to want to interact with people that day. The retail clerks in town were very friendly!

Picton is AWESOME.
Picton is AWESOME. Such a pretty, clean, easy to get around place to visit. There are plenty of places to eat and the whaling museum on the waterfront was interesting. The waterfront is a great place to walk around or just sit and enjoy the view. There is a great walking track near the marina. This is a fantastic place to visit if you are with or without kids. The scenery is spectacular. We stayed in Picton before and after completing the Queen Charlotte Track (highly recommend) and would definitely go back to Picton again.

Unique alpine like house. Eva , the host was most welcoming. She was most helpful with our stay in Picton. We had the full use of her kitchen which was very handy for us as we were returning to Christchurch the next day. The bed was very comfortable and our stay with Eva was just about the best in a 16 day holiday in New Zealand.

Spotlessly clean, large and spacious and very well appointed with everything you need. We weren't expecting too much in remote Picton at the back of the Crow Hotel. But we were very very pleasantly surprised. A great little apartment!
