We asked for a room with a bath for the kids, and they made sure we had it. Very appreciated. Also, let us check in early.

The service was outstanding! They were amazing to us and most of all our kids. The park felt so safe and was lakeside. 2 min walk to town. Hot tubs were excellent. Nothing was a problem and a core memory will always be how they roasted a pork for everyone to share for matariki!
The rooms were perfect, well equipped and clean.

Beds comfortable, location quiet and away from the center. Everything very outdated. Faucet running, furniture dilapidated, not very clean, mold on the door. We were the only guests at the time, it seemed as if nobody really cared about the accommodation. Didn't meet anyone from the staff. But perfectly fine for one night.

Te Anau is perfect for a weekend break and is ideally situated to access Milford Sound. The drive to Milford is memorable even without taking a cruise, the cruise is well worth it.
Te Anau has some good eating options, plentiful accommodation and some shops. Fuel is not expensive!

Perfect base to visit Milford Sound, with excellent restaurants, cafes and gift shops in town. We ate at the Fat Duck which was crowned best gastropub in all of New Zealand, and it was great. We also enjoyed eating at the The Ranch, and it was another fabulous meal. Definitely worth a couple of nights stay in Te Anau. Apart from Milford Sound we also enjoyed the Glow Worm Cave experience.

A small township with a lovely lake and a very good selection of eateries and shops. This location meant we could take an excellent (safe, comfortable, less tiring) coach and cruise day trip to Milford Sound which was not too long: we were picked up at about 9.30am and returned around 5.30. Others on the coach travelled for an extra two hours each way from Queenstown. A two night stay gave us time to wander through the town and along the beautiful lakefront. Check out The Ranch Bar and Grill for delicious baked dinners and other hearty well priced food. Also Black Dog Bar at the local theatre: cosy, comfortable, friendly staff and great cocktails.

A friendly and easy to get around on foot township.
A friendly and easy to get around on foot township. Scenic views of lake and mountains and such convenient access to more remote regions like Doubtful and Milford Sounds which I visited on separate days on coach and cruise tours. If doing trekking as well, would definitely need to stay a few more days. Convenience of restaurants, gift shops and a good supermarket. Recommend you visit the cinema to see the deer film shown every afternoon at 4pm. Shows the early history when the deer population was so prolific, that helo hunters were brought in to cull the numbers then later worked with government to create the deer farming industry. Resilient and innovative kiwis! (...and I'm an Australian lol).

Was a lovely and picturesque town. We had beautiful weather while there, so we walked around the township and found all the people friendly and welcoming. The lake was so beautiful and just sat around admiring the view. Would visit again and stay longer

Location was good, then again Te Anau is a very small town. There are many different facilities for guests esp kids. There are two other campgrounds nearby which we saw with better facilities. We got a corner self contained unit which was great with privacy in a crowded place. Dedicated parking which is good. Receptionist who checked us in was very pleasant with her little assistant.
The very cute resident cat was friendlier than the Easter weekend receptionist.
This Motel hands down, was the most luxurious comfortable well appointed facility we stayed in of the 7 different hotels/motels on our recent trip, the attention to detail of our room from Lavender and chocolates on our pillows , to the candles for our spa bath , The most comfortable beds we had experienced , and the full lounge suite , superb :-)
Staff were super frendly and helpful, Would stay again and Highly recommend to all , Many Thanks Ross W
Well situated motel in the centre of Te Anau with easy access to the restaurants and the lake. Starting point to Milford Sound. The staff was knowledgeable and suggested some good options - a trip to the glow worm cave, or timing of the trip to Milford Sound.
Beautiful views of the lake with a nice spacious garden in front of our room. The motel is also in a great location that is quiet and peaceful, and just a short drive away from Te Anau town centre.
A lovely motel. Proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at this motel the next occasion I am visiting Te Anau. A lovely experience!
