My wife and I had the most incredible stay at this hidden gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the tranquility, natural beauty, and warm hospitality that define this place.
Our room was immaculate—beautifully designed, comfortable, and offering breathtaking views of the lush jungle all around us. Every morning felt like waking up in paradise, but one morning in particular stood out: we were gently awoken by the distant sound of howler monkeys, and to our amazement, we could see them right from our balcony! It was a magical, surreal experience that we’ll never forget.
The location is perfect. Just a short, peaceful stroll through nature brings you to a stunning beach where we spent hours relaxing and soaking up the sun. The entire property feels like it’s been lovingly nestled into its surroundings, with nature ever-present but never intrusive.
The food was consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every meal was a delight, and the service made it even better. The staff were outstanding: friendly, attentive, and thoughtful in every interaction. Their attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed and made us feel truly cared for throughout our stay.
While the swimming pool was on the smaller side, we still loved every moment we spent there. Surrounded by jungle sounds, it became our favorite spot to unwind in the afternoons. There’s something incredibly soothing about lounging in fresh water while listening to tropical birds and distant monkey calls.
This was more than just a vacation—it was an experience that reconnected us with nature and each other. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already dreaming of our return.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for peace, beauty, and genuine hospitality. 🌿🌊🌞

Beautiful location just above the beach with panoramic views of the islands in the Boca Chica bay. Super engaged and friendly owner Brad who was ready to support with every request. He put in considerable effort to charter a boat and get other guests interested for a special snorkeling tour to Islas Secas which I highly appreciated.
I loved the spacious bungalow on the garden edge with a nice terrace overlooking the sea and garden.
For wildlife enthusiasts the garden and surroundings are filled with visiting wildlife including monkeys and lots of bird species.
Plenty of nice restaurants both on walking distance or alternatively a short drive to the village.
Boca Brava Lodge has a fitness centre, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Boca Chica.

I don"t know how to find words for this very special place. The room was perfect: equipped with everything you need, with a great view and the sound of waves.
The place is just beautiful. It is located on a hill surrounded by water in three directions and jungle at the other. You are in the middle of the nature, you can see animals, its so peaceful and quiet. Walking around at the island is nice and you have the beach there on you own. The beach is also nice and safe for swimming.
The hammocks have just the best views.
The food is delicious: they have many different options; there are a lot of side dishes also including potatoes and dishes with different sauces (things I was missing in other Panamanian restaurants a lot). And everything is tasty.
The service is super attentive and professionell.
But the best thing are the people there. From the very beginning they made me feel like being a long lost family member who returned home after many years. I'm still overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone there.
If I come back to Panama, I"ll definitely visit this place again.
Thanks a lot for everything!

Very friendly owner and stuff, very spacios, birds and monkeys in the trees in the backyard, close to the ocean. The owner arranged a trip for us and the captain took us directly from the resort. They also put in our room a crib for the baby and was very good.

Off the beaten track - stunning location surrounded by nature. Great place to relax and do very little. Excursions expertly managed by Jenni if you want some activity. ( recommend the islands/ snorkelling trip and kayaking)
On average, 3-star hotels in Boca Chica cost ¥21,540 per night, and 4-star hotels in Boca Chica are ¥18,670 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Boca Chica can on average be found for ¥35,928 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Very isolated part of Panama. You can find decent food at the various resorts. They need a better market in the little village area. Something as simple as sunscreen could not be purchased. They also did a little hassling with me on the parking sitch (you have to pay parking in the village to take a boat ride - kinda lame), but I'm not going to make a big deal out of a few dollars.

Small fishing village where island boat tours operate from.
Small fishing village where island boat tours operate from. We did a three island day trip where we visited three islands with approximately 1 hour stay on each.
We had lunch at La Costa, and La Promesa both were good and reasonably priced $$. We also had dinner at Bocas del Mar which is a Resort Hotel with an upscale restaurant. The food was good and prices were $$$. Reservations recommended.

To be clear, the resort is not directly IN Boca Chica main town area. It is a 25 minute drive from this little town. We never actually went to the "town" of Boca Chica. But this rural area is all just called "Boca Chica." We were behind the gates of this private resort and went to the gorgeous beaches withing walking distance....and hiked up a developed hill trail with breathtaking views of the area. So, the photos are of the private El Regalo beach, which was heavenly and tranquil. And the other photos are of the private trail hike on the resort property.

Boca Chica is beautiful.
Boca Chica is beautiful. The mountains and the beaches are breath taking. Undeveloped and undiscovered, go now, before it changes. Not a lot of services in Boca Chica itself but several upscale hotels with all the amenities. A car is useful, but necessary, as the resorts are all-inclusive. The road from Santiago to Boca Chica is an excellent 100kph highway and, bonus, the road right down to Boca Chica shore is now paved. It is 19km, but beautifully paved now.

Boca Chica is yet an untapped tourist destination in Panama.
Boca Chica is yet an untapped tourist destination in Panama. It is the perfect launching point to explore incredibly beautiful islands and to find some peace and quiet on the pacific. Definitely take a boat tour to the surrounding islands if you stay on the mainland, and hop on a kayak if you are so inclined!

We enjoyed very much our stay in El Regalo. The room was nicely furnished and was veery spacious with beautiful view. Hotel is pet friendly. The staff was very friendly and helpful they set up for us amazing whole day trips, we didn’t have to care about anything. They also prepared for us early breakfast before the trip and snacks. They also have amazing cocktails that we were enjoying every evening! It’s calm hotel in the middle of nowhere, which we loved. We would definetely come back!
The hotel area and landscapes, beaches are just spectacular. Nature is everywhere around. There is a water taxis available from the hotel and car access ok too.
Employee work is very well organized, rapid and precise (not always the case in Central America), attitude of waiters very kind and interested. Spaces were cleaned and well planned.
The restaurant had a local and varied menu. Cook had experience and dishes fresh, delicious. We appreciated the reasonable prices.
Boca Chica Bay Lodge is probably one of the best accommodations we have experienced. We have travelled extensively throughout the world. The ambiance was beautiful. The view incredible.Wildlife can be spotted and followed from the balcony.. Rooms are pleasantly equipped and the breakfast a great start of the day.
The hosts, Erika and Herbie are warm and personal. We came as strangers and left as friends.
Amazing location with great views. Very private, quiet and calm environment. The house is very spacious inside and has a large terrace too.
The hosts are very helpful and friendly. I will definitely rent this house again on my next trip to Boca Chica!
