Considering how hot it was in other parts of Panama, Boquete was really very pleasant. There were enough grocery stores and restaurants to meet most needs. There is a stress on doing outdoors activities. We learned quickly that we were not in good enough condition to do most of them. I am 91 and my wife 84. The city has a modern and reasonably equipped library and a library-dedicated green-space that a visitor can spend some time at. I stayed in Boquete for four nights. It's a very pretty town at a higher elevation, so it's somewhat cooler. There are a lot of activities you can do, mine was to relax, mbecause I'm akways on the go! Cool little mountain town with delicious restaurants, friendly people, and gorgeous surroundings. We had a chocolate cooking class that was really well done at the Perfect Pair. I spotted several hummingbirds feeding off plants in the garden. The hostel is located at the end of a road making it a very tranquil place to relax. There are hot showers which are great for after going on hikes on nearby trails. Amir and Mabel are very kind, helpful and knowledgable about Boquete. The staff is superfriendly and helpfull and makes everyone feel right at home. You can ask them about any activity you'd like to do in the area and they'll give you all the information you need or book it for you. The hotel is really clean, especially the shared kitchen area.
