We had an enjoyable time in this hotel, a little away from Portobelo, but we chose this place to live a quiet moment in the nature. The hotel was close to the places where the boats leave to go to the islands. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed our meals there as well.

Fabienne and Franck are very friendly. The place is easy to find on the gravel road towards Cacique. The differentiating asset are the animals around the property and especially the monkeys shouting at sunrise and sunset.
Frank can arrange for you a tour on the same day: we enjoyed the day tour by boat in the mangrove and the islands. Starting point is 400 m from the house walking along the road.

A pleasant stay in the middle of lush greenery with a view of the Caribbean Sea, a true little paradise.
Warm and very helpful welcome. Many tips on activities to do in the surroundings and even recommendations for places/restaurants in Panama City. My last words will be for the catering, delicious and colorful, a real pleasure.
Thank you :)

The staff, including the owners, were exceptionally kind, friendly and accommodating. My friend needed a fridge for his medication and it was provided immediately. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The location by the water was quiet. peaceful and breezy and plus it wasn't too far from Portobello proper.

Great location with parking: somewhat tricky to get in, but you get used to it. Staff (Richie and wife) were wonderful, and so was breakfast: savory, sweet, fruit included every day. Pretty property with lush vegetation along a creek. Good Wifi throughout (I found out later that there are different routers covering various areas of the property)

The town of Portobelo is small and worth about an hour to see the black Christ in the church and few forts that are around. It's better to stay on the outskirts in one of the beach hotels. Most have restaurants.

Portobelo is an ideal destination for a long weekend trip on your journey through Panama.
The towns are very simple, however what we liked most was the people and the authenticity of the region.
You cannot miss the nice beaches and beautiful places like "Isla Mamey", "Isla Grande", "Playa Blanca", "Venas Azules"

Portobelo is perfect location for divers, known for the sunken plane but there is so much more. We have seen the most fish out of 3 locations we have been to in Panama (Bocas and Coiba). Corals are beautiful there, water quite calm. We would highly reccomend Golden Frog diving, our guide Rey was amazing, calm guy with a lots of knowledge :)

The hotel front towards the sea is great and e arranged for Juan to pick-up us directly at the hotel to bring us at Playa Huerta.
Portobelo was very lively during Carnaval and we were one of the few tourists enjoying the scene. Hotel is located between the two fortress and can simply walk there.
There is an ATM at the police station with diving centre 100 m away.
This accommodation is "in the middle of nowhere", but closeby by car to Portobelo and Puerto Lindo where you can take boats to the nearby islands. The scenery in the middle of the forest is beautiful and the pool very nice. They have a nice and friendly dog.
Nice view out over the water. Quiet at night. Nice walks and a lovely river to swim in nearby. Nice, considerate hosts. Close to Portobelo. Dinner and breakfast cooked to order.
My favorite part is that no matter how hot the weather is, the hotel is always cool, perhaps because of the high location, and the view from the balcony is nice.
