We were only in Lima for a day.
We were only in Lima for a day. The Plaza de Armas was impressive. Lots of birds. The architecture was fantastic. The people were nice. There seemed to be lots to see and do. I wish we had stayed longer. I would absolutely return. I would love to see someone invest some money in this city and make it breathtaking. I felt very safe in Lima — which isn’t always the case in some other South American cities, so that was a nice surprise. I stayed in two different areas: Barranco and Miraflores. Barranco is great if you're into food spots with more personality and a laid-back, artsy vibe. Miraflores is better for long walks by the ocean, but it definitely feels more touristy (and the prices reflect that). Still nice, just a different energy. Lima’s a great place to stay before or after heading to Cusco and Machu Picchu — perfect for slowing down, eating well, and spoiling yourself a bit after all the hiking.Guest review byLuciBrazil - 10.0

A fascinating city with great qualities, a good bus system. Uber was easy to use. The food was delicious, unique and affordable. We are a retired couple and enjoy walking a lot. Barranco residential gated neighborhood was perfect for us. Younger travelers will appreciate neighborhoods with active night life and lots of coffee shops and restaurants. There are lots of restaurants, bars banks, money changers and places to buy SIM cards very close to the hotel. We were upgraded to a king suite which was very spacious and well equipped. Everything very clean and a nice bathroom with lots of hot water. Bottled water delivered each day and a kettle in the room.
