Staff were great especially the three ladies who looked after me at the bar to the pool area with my food order to take to my room ech evening Gabriel soz can't remember the other two but they get my vote during my stay. Air conditioning was top notch room spotless as was the hotel no faults whatsoever there Free shuttle to Old Town & the Beach a must if you don't want to stay full day let them know and make your own way back beach like 20mins walk (No.16 bus) Old Town 45mins easy not for the faint hearted been there phew!!! Beach is top notch sun loungers €15 for the day with proper shade keep your ticket safe as I was asked later for my ticket like who can forget me lol bit sussed so watch folks. Or you can bring your own but remember it's dam hot out there seen ppl with towels and liltte flimsy umbrellas & some with kids it's a big No No they never lasted and for €15 I'd rather have peace of mind and move my sunlounchers back to the shade. Drinks menu attached to shade superbock €5 cup Until I sussed out very quickly I could get two cold btls of superbock for under €4 no brainer done my own 2mins walk to bar. There's recycle bins dotted about so be careful eh and don't be an ass with glass on a beach. Old Town well what can I say there's everything food, shops, music definitely a day out there and bus station just a long the road This is were my good friend Ami my private taxi driver came to the rescue a few times Part of my booking was a free taxi from the airport to the hotel litterally 10mins away and I just messaged him on WhatsApp and the rest is history What a down to earth trustworthy guy. Even if your not familiar with your surroundings just send Ami or if you get someone else for your journey? 2-3 photos of your location like street, bar etc where you are he'll find you no probs his prices were dam good use him for your holiday, relax, chill, enjoy folks your on holiday👆🍺

FAQs about hotels in Faro

Colourful, Historic, and Sunny

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.

The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.

Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

Faro is a beautiful city, fab old town area, beautiful marina and very walkable. Plenty of really nice restaurants and lively bars at night time. The people were so friendly and welcoming. Lots of options for daytrips either by ferry or the train. We did a daytrip by train to Tavira....highly recommend.

    I loved Faro!

I loved Faro! The beach is easy to get to on the number 16 bus or for 4 euros return on the ferry. The 16 also goes to and from the airport. I ate O Coreto and Chelsea Coffe & Brunch and highly recommend both. GetYourGuide is great for finding tours and activities to do; I did the tour "From Faro: Bengil Cave, Marinha Beach, Algar Seco & More" and it was great to see Algarve's natural beauty. I also recommend the sunset boat trip round the Rio Formosa.

You can see most of Faro in a day but we used the trains to get around the Algarve and the ferries to get out to the islands and the fantastic beaches. The amount of restaurants is incredible with such diversity of foods.

A nice small city. Very chilled vibe. The old town is lovely with lots of cultural attractions and good restaurants. The main city also has good range of restaurants including vegan and vegetarian meals. Chelsea had great salad options and there are Nepalese restaurants which are a pleasant change from the many Italian ones offering pizzas and pasta. We were surprised by how many places only took cash.

My advice Stay in a hotel near the centre.

My advice Stay in a hotel near the centre. Great marina and old historical town. Lovely pedestrian areas. Excellent seafood at a multitude of restaurants. Restaurante Centenario a wonderful seafood rice dish (for 2), Dois Irmaos an extraordinary 6 fish grill for 15.50 euro and A do Pinto lovely selection of wines and courses to choose from to name a few. The Station nearby to travel up the coast for the day and boats and ferries to visit the islands. What more is needed to squeeze into a 5-7day trip. Plus finally a short trip to and from the airport as well. Faro is a great place to visit.

Faro is a lovely little town, easy to aces by train from Lisbon or plane. There is wonderful seafood and coffee and plenty of little sites to enjoy in Old Town! I rented a car and was able to drive over to Lagos and enjoyed a nice beach day there as well!

Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,067 reviews
Stayed here for 1 night upon arrival to Portugal at Faro airport. More of an Airbnb style accommodation, self check in, no staff. Our room was pleasantly large and updated. Bed (equivalent to a queen size) was very comfortable. Modern bathroom, smart TV, strong AC and very clean. The street got extremely lively at night with bars and restaurants but we could not notice in our room. Parked our rental car on the street with no problems. Perfect for what we needed

Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 4,797 reviews
The hostel is a 20-minute walk from the airport, and its planes are rarely heard. The hostel garden offers tables, chairs and a washing line, and is a good sun trap. 3 bus lines to the city lie 15 minutes away (cost 2E85). The suburb of Montenegro, 15 minutes away, offers cafes, pubs with food, a restaurant and a supermarket, - a slice of suburban Portugal, with low prices. It is pleasantly relaxed.

The location was perfect, literally a stone throw away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and so close to Faro airport. The host was amazing, Marcos gave us all the local knowledge and recommended the best places to go, and also stocked up the apartment kitchen with all the basics needed.

The best Hostel I have ever been so far. Really made my stay in Portugal even better. 24 hour check in, clean & beautiful spaces. With events or package tours you can join. Plus the location is very good. 15 minutes from the airport, very near the stores, restaurants and shopping centre.
