Energetic and complex, Baltimore belongs to the select group of historic cities along the east coast of the United States. Located between Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, it’s the birthplace of the National Anthem. It has a lively nightlife, picturesque neighbourhoods, and modern entertainment areas. Its large number of African American population had an important role during the days of the Civil Rights movements.
Founded in 1729, its strategic location in an arm of the Chesapeake Bay rapidly transformed it into an important trading port. The historical site of Fort McHenry is well known for its role during the War of 1812 with the British Empire.
The city has numerous neighbourhoods that still maintain a quaint atmosphere. Fells Point is famous for its 18th and 19th-century architecture, cobbled streets, typical pubs, and plenty of restaurants. Some of the best inns and hotels in Baltimore are located here, while a more local feeling and great accommodation can also be found in Federal Hill and Midtown.
The Inner Harbor is a lively area where tourists can find modern venues and live concerts. Most Baltimore hotels are located in the Harbor, while the business district has also a wide variety of accommodation.

Baltimore is a maligned city that doesn't get it's fair due.
Baltimore is a maligned city that doesn't get it's fair due. There is so much to see, do, experience and the food is fantastic. The Aquarium, the museums, the city markets, close enough for day trips to DC and other areas of MD (go to Southern Maryland and eat some seafood!) are all within an easy drive.

We went for a baseball game. Enjoyed the inner harbor area. Babe Ruth musuem was an added plus. Looking forward to going back for a football game in the future. Did not venture too far at night, but felt perfectly safe during the day.

Traveling around and parking are very difficult in the city,...
Traveling around and parking are very difficult in the city, but Uber and Lyft are readily available but of course it's very expensive. Even parking at the hotel was expensive which seems typical of the hotels. The Baltimore Zoo was disappointing--several things closed (giraffe house, carousel) and getting to the animals took a lot of walking. The walk in seemed llike a "money grab" with tons of overpriced merchandise you're forced to walk through to get to the "real" part of the zoo. Big issue was that they only had four ECV's for rent, which I really needed, and even though I arrived close to opening time they had all been rented. The National Aquarium was much better, more accommodating and well kept up. There was a lot to see and do, but my favorite thing was the dolphins. We also watched and enjoyed all of the 4D films. The food was also surprisingly good, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Impossible Meatball sub. We also visited and enjoyed the American Visionary Museum and gift shop, although we didn't have as much time there as we would have liked since we had to make our stay in Baltimore short due to the costs of staying there. Although we enjoyed the visit, all four of us agreed we were unlikely to return to Baltimore due to the high costs, traffic, crowds, and difficulty getting around.

Was going there for a family funeral, so always unfortunate circumstances but otherwise the trip could not have gone better: we got to the National Aquarium, as well as Ft. McHenry in addition to fulfilling our family obligations. We enjoyed a wonderful family-run cafe in nearby Greektown, and had a great lunch in a tavern in gentrifying Locust Point on what happened to be opening day for the Orioles.

We went to the Maryland Science Center and had an amazing time! There was so much for the kids to enjoy, with the IMAX theater, planetarium, and live science demonstrations. The exhibits were entirely interactive and educational. This science center was the best!
We also went to the National Aquarium, which was also fun and educational. Our favorite part was the Rain Forest area at the top, where we saw sloths and beautiful birds. We also had fun walking along the piers, enjoying the beautiful harbor. This was quite an exciting, wonderful trip for our family.

Great location, just across the road from the harbor. The hotel staff were exceptional. the room was big, clean and comfortable. The onsite coffee shop was really good and it was good to have an onsite mini mart too.
The location is convenient, with several great local food spots and hotels nearby. The Whole Foods is about 15 minutes away by foot, located near the harbor area.
