We had a huge room with a couch, 2 chairs, and a gas fireplace. The view was fantastic. The breakfast was great. You have to hike up to the restaurant but it also has a wonderful view. This was 2nd time staying here and I would stay again if in the area. We also enjoyed a drink in the Living area where we were entertained by a very good pianist.

We found all staff to be friendly and welcoming. The room was clean bright and comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee in the lobby area as well as cookies by reception in the afternoon. We wanted a modern functional hotel that enabled us to have plenty of parking and good access to the Acadia National Park with a quick breakfast, comfortable room and good showering facilities after walking etc. The hotel provided all these at a competitive price.

We had the BEST stay at The Pathmaker! We got engaged while staying here, so Bar Harbor will always have a special place in our hearts. Wish we didn't have to travel for 30+ hours to get here, otherwise we'd be back tomorrow!! Beautiful room and really kind and accommodating staff!

    Loved the close proximity to

Loved the close proximity to Acadia NP which was main reason for coming up to Bar Harbor. Shops were fun, restaurants were mixed. Did not enjoy traveling with my daughter in law we got lost every time we went somewhere, but that is not your fault. Overall Bar Harbor was a place I would visit again with someone other than DIL>

Beautiful little town with great dinning and shops. The closeness of Acadia National Park is perfect. A visit to Bar Harbor combines the fun of a vibrant town and the beauty of a national park. This year marked my 72nd year of coming to Bar Harbor. Yes, that's 72. I've traveled the world, but always visit Bar Harbor once a year.

    Absolutely beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful! Definitely needed the 5 days to explore Acadia national park and Bar Harbor. Go to the Visitor Center at Acadia and get the booklet that has a written narrative to the loop drive, worth the cost to read about everything you are seeing.

A three day trek to the Bar Harbor region is about right for anyone in New England - you see plenty on the way to and from the place, and one full day will let you see enough so you will came again to see the rest, since the place changes in beauty through the seasons. Sadly, the roads do get clogged, especially in the park after noon where the drive from the entry gates past Otter Point resemble a long parking lot as hikers abandon their cars in the "parking lane" all day, preventing people from taking brief pauses in the lane to take photos of Sandy Beach, Thunder Hole and Jordan Pond.

I always visit Bar Harbor off season outside the period when you need reservations for Cadillac Mountain. That way, parking is not an issue when in Arcadia National Park. The downside to late fall is that many restaurants and shops are closed for the season. The plus is that you are eating and shopping with the locals.

We arrived with leaves still in their Autumn splendor and unusally warm weather making it possible to do a bit of outdoor explration and a hike in Acadia. Shops this time of year (late October) are mostly closed, while some are surprisingly open. The waterfront is beautiful. The neighborhoods are very pretty, and people are friendly. We want to return with time to immerse ourselves.

This motel was clean and an easy walk to everything. You are in the heart of down town Bar Harbor with a three minute walk to the water. The shops and places to eat were right there. Across the lane, next to the hotel was a small breakfast / lunch place, the coffee was good, the blueberry waffles were yummy and the service was friendly. I would return and recommend this hotel to others.

location was good. easy to get to acadia, close by. Bar harbor is not far away. parking there is hard to find and expensive. from this hotel you need a car to go to restaurants etc. No bus service. so better to stay in bar harbor and have free parking in the city. Beds in the hotel are good, but little high.

Although a few miles away from Bar Harbor, we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and level of comfort at this out of town motel. Room prices in Bar Harbor, for even basic accommodation, can get ludicrously expensive, but Gallagher's Travels pricing offered way more value than most in town.

The location was great. You were close to everything. The shuttle to the downtown picks you up right at the door. Breakfast was really good. Staff was very friendly. Even if the rooms are a bit dated they were very clean.

Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. View was wonderful and the best part of the hotel. The room, with exception of the bathroom, was spacious and had comfortable seating.
