Gettysburg is a beautiful town with an amazing landscape that not only happened to be the location where a critical historical event (Battle of Gettysburg July 1-3 1863) that was vital in determining the fate of the United States took place, but it also happens to be an area with a fascinating history that dates back all the way to prehistoric times. There are great restaurants, very kind people and accommodations for all ages who visit Gettysburg for many different reasons. I believe that every American should visit Gettysburg to gain an appreciation and understanding of the incredible sacrifices that were made there by ordinary people for all future generations. It is vital for us as people and as citizens to realize the responsibility, sacrifices, and power we have and must make to help shape our nations future. The new "Beyond the Battle Museum" is awesome!

Excellent historic site including the ones is Harrisburg.
Excellent historic site including the ones is Harrisburg. Dining is outsranding with the Farnsworth House always being busy and the Blue and Grey for lunch. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Gettysburg. The places I visited was informative and the tours I did gave a lot of good information. The people were extremely friendly and showed a willingness to help out. Gettysburg was great!
Gettysburg was great! We had a 3 hour tour in which our guide drove our car around the various battlefield areas. Well worth it and highly recommend. We wish we had another day to do some of the other stuff in and around town. Didn't have time to visit the cemetery, etc. Will need to make another trip back sometime.
