I loved the look and feel of the property and the rooms. The staff at the restaurant were excellent and hospitable. The bar was also a nice place to sit down and read a book.

    22 Bowen restaurant was exceptional.

22 Bowen restaurant was exceptional. Lots of interesting stores. There is a beach. You can get into many of the mansions. Three days was not enough: on day one we arrived and then walked up and down viewing the interesting old houses and restorations. On day two we went into three of the old mansions. Day 3 we walked along part of the Cliff Walk and then went to the beach briefly. Then we went into town to eat and view the boating activity. We could have used another day to go into shops and take a boat trip.

    Newport is gorgeous.

Newport is gorgeous. Of course, as Australians we have an interest in Newport as it was for so long the battle ground for the America's cup! Steeped in a rich history with charm, it is a wonderful place to visit. Great seafood and overwhelming mansions that give you insight into the "Guilded Age". We had dinner at "The Moorings" and loved the lobster and the entire restaurant. Great service and food. With limited time we visited, "The Breakers" which was a sensational introduction to the great mansions of a bygone era in American history. There is also fabulous cliff walk, restaurants and shops. A lot to see in Newport and also museums but as were were short on time this visit we have lots to do on our return. Very easy to get around and we had a hire car but it is suitable to walk. Loved everything about Newport.

We went off season, so it was perfect.

We went off season, so it was perfect. I can see where it would be difficult to drive around if mid-summer. It would still be worth the trip though but you would need patience. We really liked Busker's and Brick Alley Pub, and last trip we went to Jo's Bistro which is great too, all great restaurants. For us, as pro photographers, the Cliff Walk is great as is Ocean Drive. The mansions are excellent as well. If you can't find something to do in Newport, I don't know what would ever please you! Besides all of the beautiful old and new attractions there are many many restaurants and shopping for those who prefer that. If you don't want to drive as we do, there are tours that we have heard are wonderful. We stop a lot so we prefer to drive ourselves, but I would think you would get more info on the tours. To each his own, it is enjoyable either way. Beautiful views, beaches, flowers everywhere, and of course the mansions...go and have fun, and go back again, we have and it was just as nice to see again. Looking forward to the next time!

Loved visiting the historical sights as well as experiencing the enthusiasm of the volunteers at the car museum, on the same block as the Tennis Hall of Fame which we also visited. It is easy to get around Newport; and when you talk to the locals, you learn a lot. Absolutely loved our ocean drive...on Ocean Drive!

The trolley ride with Viking was excellent.

The trolley ride with Viking was excellent. The view from the trolley and the knowledge of the driver (who gave the tour throughout) was excellent. We purchased a tour with a museum ticket included (Breakers). The Mansion tour is very nice - be sure to bring headphones for your smartphone for the tour (it is recorded - not a live person). The walk along the cliff is very nice - take the regular bus line to the south end and then walk all the way back ($2.00 ). Definitely worth it, but beware that the first leg of the cliff walk from the south is not paved and is a bit of rock hopping but still easy).

Newport is an amazing little city, so many mansions to see no tour through, lots of history here, many old buildings, great nuts l history with the Americas Cup. Lots of high end boutiques no gllerie, and two world class car museums. Summer it’s very busy, best time to visit is when it’s almost heading into Autumn as the wether is still good but the crowds have largely gone.

We stayed in Room 7 on the ground floor, which was spacious, clean and featured a comfortable queen size bed and a renovated bathroom. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Newport. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious, and housekeeping did an excellent job.

The location was phenomenal. The Inn is at the bottom of the main "downtown" area for Newport, so we could just step outside and head north until we found something that piqued our interest. Plus, being right on top of the bar, it was easy to find any wayward group members when we needed to regroup: They were at the bar.

The hosts were extremely helpful and catered very well for my gluten free allergy at breakfast. We were made to feel welcome and they were very helpful on advising where to go and what to see in the local area. The decor of the hotel was super, really refreshing.
