The property is well located in down-town Montevideo, with access by walking distance to the Plaza Independencia, shops and restaurants. The room was large and comfortable, and the gym was adequately equipped for indoor workouts during winter weather.

Nice city hotel at the very heart of Montevideo. Rooms were a bit outdated but the lobby and public areas were modern. Large bed. Nice views over the city from upper floors.

Rests of poo in the toilet and a giant cockroach upon arrival. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!
We had to call the reception twice, one for the faeces to be cleaned, and then another for the cockroach. As in any hotel, you’d expect a full refund and arrangements to stay elsewhere, but they didn’t seem to get that.
Unfortunately having been to this property several times in the past, I can safely say that I am never ever going back.

Located on the north bank of the Rio de la Plata, the city of Montevideo is Uruguay’s capital, largest city and main harbour and economic hub. Claimed by the Spanish, Portuguese and British, the city reflects today the typical South American cultural patchwork. With a strong Italian and Spanish legacy, its soul dances to the rhythm of tango and the African-influenced ‘candombe’.
With approximately 1.5 million people, it houses almost half of the country’s population. Montevideo has a rich cultural life with important institutions like the Solis Theatre.
Carnival is Montevideo's most significant celebration, and the ‘murgas’ play and dance ‘candombe’ in the streets turning the city into a big party. If you plan to book a hotel in Montevideo for carnival, check the availability beforehand!
Don’t miss the ‘Ciudad Vieja’ old town, the Independence Square and the views from the top of the Salvo Building. The Rodo Park is the most traditional park in the city, while the ‘Rambla’ esplanade offers 13 km of sandy beaches.
Whether you prefer a cosy B&B in the old town, a hotel on the beach, or accommodation near the Carrasco International Airport, check out the Montevideo deals available on Booking.com!

The city was easy to get around in, beautiful to walk through. The downside was too many people smoking on the streets. A lot of red meat and Italian food to be eaten but, if you hunt a little, you can find others, ie: i had an excellent Chinese meal!

The old town is very interesting, though can feel a bit edgy on quieter nights of the week (Monday and Tuesday). The tourist office provided information, but only about the old town, and not about Palermo and Pocitos, which are equally fascinating, with lovely buildings. We missed the fantastic markets on a Sunday, apparently well worth seeing.

Great place to combine beach with city holiday.
Great place to combine beach with city holiday. Something for everyone. Safe and beautiful kind considerate Uruguayans. Huge and smart shopping mall less than 10 mins walk. We also walked to pick up a hire car for a couple of days.
Bouza vineyard trip was a 30 min journey with driver pick up and was a real highlight.

Beautiful, impressive architecture and historic buildings, but mostly deteriorating with trash and litter and homelessness. Outside of the old city there are more modern places but they all suffer from the same general lack of care. The people of the city seem relaxed and at peace with the state of things, but it is sad to see when it is so apparent how things once were.

Montevideo, like Uruguay, is very relaxed and friendly.
Montevideo, like Uruguay, is very relaxed and friendly. My visit on this occasion was short, specifically to see the carnival - Desfiles de Llamadas - a joyous occasion that everyone should experience once in their lives (and if you do, like me, you'll come back !).

We chose this hotel for our last 2 nights in Uruguay. We had an Executive Suite on the 10th floor overlooking the River and the City. The Hotel met our every need and expectation We took the opportunity t use the leisure facilities and watching the sunset from the rooftop jacuzzi was extraordinary. We dined in the hotel both nights and Felipe the restaurant manager was attuned to our every need with some excellent recommendations. We left the hotel totally satisfied and at the same time a little sad that our stay was over
I liked everything about this place, best place I ever stayed here in Montevideo Uruguay. Julio was also the most polite and curious person from the start of booking this place. Julio was very helpful providing the keys to this place to my wife before I arrived in Montevideo a day before. Provided great info on how this place was set up and set us a video of how the place looked like. All in all Julio and this place were excellent.
It is a great room in a perfect location in downtown Montevideo. Mariela is a fantastic hostess and really makes you feel at home. Breakfast is delicious and made to your liking. Mariela is eager to share information about Montevideo and Uruguay, which makes a visit even more enjoyable!
The place is wonderful. The richness of details in this house captivated me, really impressive. Hosts' attention is impeccable, very helpful and polite. The breakfast, amazing. The house is located in the best and most opulent neighborhood of montevideo, carrasco. We just loved it.
In the heart of Montevideo, the best place in ciudad vieja and centro. Very charming interior, wonderful friendly and helpful staff! Extraordinary breakfast. You feel that this hotel is run with much heart
