Hanoi was incredible, bustling, and full of things to do and places to see. We spent a total of about four days in Hanoi, spread out over a couple different visits there on our way to other places. I wish we had planned to stay in the city a bit longer, as there were some sights we didn't quite make it to. Don't forget to try Cafe Giang for egg coffee! A nice city. Not as busy as Ho Chi Minh and there are pedestrian areas which is great for moving around. Easy to walk in the city and some lovely places to eat and drink. Train Street is a great experience! There is also Mural Street and Mozaic Street which are both lovely. The people are as kind as they are busy (avoiding you if you've ventured out on a motor/bike, an experience not to be missed...pardon the pun). The food is more healthy than tasty but very cheap. We stayed in the old quarter the whole trip and loved being in the center of everything. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere this is not the area for you, the minute we stepped out of the hotel there are scooters beeping and going by and people trying to sell you things. I liked having such quick access to restaurants and the little local shops but it did get loud and busy at times. Sometimes we had to walk to our tour busses because they cannot drive on the smaller streets so if you are concerned about walking or have large luggage confirm with your hotel or tour if they pick you up at the door or a few blocks away.Guest review byHollyUnited States
